Another bad day for Strasburg Remember when ESPN was all over his nuts and his first 3 or 4 starts was a huge event? Well he was a huge prospect that most people were really excited about. Then he went out and destroyed the pirates with disgusting stuff. Well worth being covered. And it's not like he's turned out bad or anything. 3.00 ERA and 1.04 WHIP last year in nearly 200 IP is pretty darn good. Not super-elite, but very good.

The Mets have traded Ike Davis to Pittsburgh for 1-2 prospects according to Chris Cotillo. Waiting on the names.

The Mets get Zack Thornton and a PTBNL. Thornton profiles to be a nice 7th inning guy. Sidearmer.

Jon Heyman says the PTBNL is fairly significant for the Mets. One possibility is that it could be a 2013 draft pick. In that case, LHP Blake Taylor could be that guy.

Bryce Harper was pulled from Saturday's loss to the Cardinals for not running out a groundball.

Remember when Met fans were counting down the days until Ike got called up? Turned sour pretty quick unfortunately. He had a solid first year. Don't know what happened to him after that, but I hope he does well in Pittsburgh and he just needed a change in scenery.

Felipe Paulino goes on the 15-day DL for "shoulder inflammation", which in layman's terms means "he can't pitch worth a crap and we don't want him stinking up the minors". Andre Rienzo has been called up, although if the Sox have another long day, he could be used as a long reliever and somebody else could be starting Wednesday in Detroit.
Adam Eaton hurt his hamstring again. Same inning (5th) as when he tweaked it the night before. Paul Konerko has stepped forward to try and settle this kid down. I like hard-nosed players and all, but this guy needs to pick his spots.
