Gutted. One of the finest actors of his lifetime, he was 81. He never did get that elusive Oscar.

I have only seen 4 Peter O'Toole movies:Club Paradise,King Ralph,High Spirits and Caligula.Those are all the good ones,right?
Caligula is the best because I'm pretty sure he is drunk.

Damn!
I was still hoping he'd get his Oscar. It's a shame it alluded him so long due to equal or greater performances.

RIP
Of course I love Lawrence of Arabia, but my favorite film of his was The Ruling Class. I've heard many people say that if you could watch one performance that is an education in film acting, watch Peter O'Toole in The Lion in Winter.

Quite possibly my favorite actor of all time... I think I'll watch Ruling Class in his honor either tonight or tomorrow. Definitely my favorite film and performance of his, but I loved most of his pre-1980 output.

Really sad news. I think he deserved more than an honorary Acadamy Award.

Damn, RIP. Why couldn't you give him the rub Oscars? You do it all the time, give actors or directors "make up" Oscars for when you passed them over before when they were deserving. Why did you never do this for Peter?

It seems everyone is forgetting Anton Ego, which is honestly my favorite role of his. That monologue at the end of Ratatouille is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

I only knew him from the Ruling Class until I finally saw Lawrence of Arabia a few months ago. He's a movie legend.
R.I.P.
