*Lost clean as a sheet in a qualifying match for a World Title shot* "I have the IT Factor! Every night I deliver!!!" He sounds like a deluded heel. I was waiting for Ziggler to do the nervous laugh and then burst into tears. But yeah, Dolph does "deliver" in a sense. But i think his character seems to be more concerned with putting on the match of the night than actually winning or losing. Then he shouldn't be spazzing out over a clean loss.

This promo would make sense if he wasn't getting his ass whupped in the ring so often. It just comes off as crybaby-ish. Tired of this constant metabullshit. Gotta ask, what are you expecting him to say? That he's a loser? Start acting like Ryder? I'm just happy he's getting angry, and actually wants something, instead of just letting the booking dictate his attitude.

...never mind.

You know, for a company that loves to blow smoke up Shawn Michaels' ass, who's entire gimmick that I've seen was "male stripper douchebag who had really good matches" as his gimmick (don't get me wrong, I love HBK but still), they seem to just barely let Ziggler, who does the exact same thing, have these exact same matches, have this exact same gimmick, and go absolutely nowhere.
And I just don't get it.

I had my problems with Ziggler being a constant top level heel (related to moveset/mic skills) but this was very passionate. Doesn't make much sense in kayfabe land but still lots of emotion in display.

Gotta ask, what are you expecting him to say? That he's a loser? Start acting like Ryder? I'd be more impressed if he did something as Dolph Ziggler the character, rather than as Nick Nemeth, the guy who plays Dolph Ziggler and thinks he should be pushed more. In the promo, he's talking about how he doesn't like that he's booked to lose fake wrestling matches. I lived through the Vince Russo era, it was fun at the time, but just personally, I don't enjoy that stuff anymore. For Daniel Bryan, it works, because the on-screen HHH character is keeping him down, and it just mirrors the backstage situation, but in the kayfabe context of the Ziggler promo, what the hell is he talking about? He lost a match, why is he complaining about other people? From a kayfabe perspective, which is how I try to watch my wrestling, he just comes off as a whiner.

Because there's grains of truth to it. It's a new kayfabe. They're working people's emotions by having the guys who are considered held back as not being able to take it anymore. It cannot possibly be on TV for obvious narrative reasons, but to stir the shit and build heat for "smart" fans online? -- I think it's brilliant. Everyone with half a brain knows WWE hasn't used the guy properly. And now they're using that base to work people into an all-encompassing angle.

Eh, he'll probably just be out with another concussion before anything ever comes of this. I like Dolph well enough but I don't see him taking that next step.

As someone who greatly enjoys Dolph Ziggler, "angry Dolph" isn't the way to go.
Plus, WWE's made it pretty clear that he's not going to really ever be anything other than that guy they'll put in that match when that other guy is doing something else.

Angry pissed off Dolph is the perfect opposite to Daniel Bryan IMO , much like how Rocks arrogance was the perfect opposition to Austins take no crap attitude.
If they push Dolph in line with Daniel Bryan I think the same effect can take place and proably would...in that Daniel Bryan is no questions asked the most over right now but push them at an equal level and I think Dolph over takes him in a few years.

So they're turning the fans rebellion into an angle and seemingly set to push all the guys they like most. Bryan, Cesaro, Ziggler. We could be getting ready for New Generation 2.0.

I know this will draw eyerolls from a lot of people, but I'm still convinced that he'd be very good in the Flair role. That's not at all to say he's Ric Flair, but I think he can do the same types of things. By that I mean hold the title as a heel, make the babyfaces look amazing every week with great matches, then escape with the belt by the skin of his teeth thanks to BS and/or luck. Then he walks around with the cocky attitude saying that he's amazing and no one can touch him, etc.
But since that isn't going to happen, I'll settle for him just being on TV and doing something interesting. That doesn't mean he has to win all the time or be the top guy, but like, give the guy SOMETHING to work with. He's way too good to just go out and have pointless undercard matches every week that lead absolutely no where.

I don't even like watching Dolph wrestle anymore because it seems like he's always one bump away from yet another concussion. It's uncomfortable.

He's one bump away from a concussion, but I worry that if he "tones it down" in the ring he'll either lose his overness or lose what value the company DOES see in him.

I would like for Dolph to have a program in which he could channel this kind of emotion into something that makes sense within the context of the show.
Or just, ya know, a program. Something better than "go out there with Sandow and hit each other with stuff".

Clearly it's just a matter of time constraints. They only have 3 hours. Probably why they can't take the time to give people entrances anymore either. Well those reasons and the fact that they need to explain to us how to get the app.

That was purely tongue in cheek . I enjoyed that promo. Honestly, I would love to see more intense promos like that. I remember a couple years ago when they randomly had Kelly Kelly work with Edge against Vickie there was one promo she cut where she actually had some fire. Before that I didn't give two craps about Kelly but that actually got me interested until it went nowhere. We need more intensity.
