If you want to compare Listen to any other episode, compare it to Midnight. That would be closer, I think.

FFS I thought we'd seen the last of Clara "I have no personality" bleedin' Oswald. Why would you think that? THe ending screamed that they weren't splitting up totally yet. (the bit with Santa coming and saying that she wasn't happy) Also on top of that it's been announced for months that she'd be back for the Christmas Special.

I never understood this hatred for Clara. Yeah, she's a little bland at times, but after three years of the Doctor travelling with probably the two most unlikeable companions in the series history (Amy Pond and River Song) I found her a welcome relief.

I was disappointed simply because Series Eight was hyped as being more about the Doctor himself than the past several, a throwback to the classic series, and well it wasn't once again his companions trended to dominate the storylines. At this point I want to see him mainly on his own for a whole series, with no fixed companions perhaps just a few guest stars.

I really enjoyed the Christmas special and the villainous creatures were actually surprisingly scary and effective. Nick Frost was great as Santa, especially his back and forth with the Doctor. {Spoiler}I'm happy to see Carla Oswald is staying on the show, I like her as a companion.

It was better than the season finale (though that's actually not saying much), but I just wasn't into it. Also very tired of Clara, and I actually like Danny Pink so I don't appreciate being teased with him again.
Nick Frost was the best part of the show.

Way better than last year.
"How do you get all the presents in the sleigh?" "It's bigger on the inside."

Good, yet confusing episode.
I like Clara, so I'm cool with her staying

They were awfully hard on the poor Satsuma, it's a very useful gift, just ask the 10th Doctor.

"Meh" at best
The aliens were a combo of Facehugger/Black Mercy plant also I was liking were the ending was going but it just kept going and just left me going
This whole year for Doctor Who has been a creative bust, worst series since McCoy's first

I just get the feeling like, at any point during Series 9 they could write themselves into a corner, only to have someone wake up and have everything be "dreams within dreams" bullshit. I would not put it past them.
