That doesn't answer what you said at all, and effectively means that all sequels are cheap exploitations, even if the original creators design, write, and/or direct them. Guess Godfather II counts? Yeah to an extent. It didn't need to occur. The book sequels hadn't existed yet. Avatar was successful and they wanted to milk more out of it and so this other one was made. Sorry you're offended cause I spoke ill of your cartoon. But yeah it was a spin off that didn't need to exist, and doesn't enhance the original story at all. Just something to try and sell more merch to the kiddos. LIke I said. Never watched it. Barely watched the first one. Thought it was too childish for my liking. So as an outsider it looked like a cheap exploitation. Nick ended Avatar but still wanted to drain the money bags from it, so Korra was born. Doesn;t matter if the same creators were involved or not. They aren't the ones ordering the episodes, and apparently it was a cheap knock off cause it failed. there was literally nothing childish about the original series. believe me, I should know as I'm a connoisseur of childish things...

If you never watched it, and never watched the original series, don't act like you know what they are and why they were made and how exactly they were made. You're assuming your logic to be right when it isn't. So just stop and don't get involved in something you know nothing about, calling it cheap, a failure, and childish when you haven't even watched either series.

So you admit you know absolutely nothing about the series, yet say it was made "to sell more merch to the kiddies", brush off the Godfather II comparison, and cop an attitude about it? Nicely done, if incredibly absurd. I said I knew nothing about form the start You're the one who is absurd, comparing this to the Godfather, and I didn't brush it off. I clearly stated that the sequel to the Godfather didn't need to happen either as the second book was not yet published and that good as it was the sequel DIDN'T NEED to exist. The first stood alone. You're quite up in arms over my opinion. I am not jealous of your passion for this failure of a spinoff cartoon though.

I thought the air bender was quite childish, albeit that was his character, but everything I saw of the show, which ADMITTEDLY Wasn't much it felt like an anime for 8 year olds. Seriously wtf can't I formulate my own opinion about something based on trailers and other appearances.

I'm obviously not saying Avatar is the cinematic equivalent of the Godfather, I'm saying that Godfather II was a sequel which fits your definition of "cheap exploitation", and you're not addressing it. Shape up, now.

This was a Thread, made about Korra, and essentially, made for the FANS, of Korra, and Avatar: The Last Airbender
And here you come, with little to no knowledge of the show, spouting about how Korra was a failure, Avatar looks like an anime for eight year olds, and other honestly, nonsense.
You CAN'T form your opinion based on Trailers. That's just asinine. Watch the whole thing and then make a justified one. Quite frankly, you've made yourself look like an asshole throughout this entire thread, and everything you've said to try and strengthen your "argument" has made you look like more of a fool to everyone who's actually seen the shows in full, like myself.
You really just need to leave this Thread quietly, and not come back. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt at the moment, but if you continue with these arguments you're more coming off as a jerk ruining a Thread, not someone with an opinion.

What chaps my ass about Nick and ratings is that the stupid little Espy clone only got twice the ratings that Korra got. Nick promoted that show for two months on multiple Viacom networks, yet it only get twice the number of a show that was poorly advertised. I know that Nick wanted to make Korra online exclusive from the get, but they that's no excuse for how they have handled things.

The Godfather was based on a novel. Part two was not. The second novel was written after the sequel was filmed. So yeas 100 percent the Godfather part two was an exploitation of the first film...ONly it was ya know successful unlike Korra.

My issues were first with the animation it looked a little off to me. Not quite an anime, but it tried to look like one. That's about the only way that I can explain it. Second the air bender himself bothered me. Sure I missed the coming of age tale and yes I get that he is a child as so acts in childish manner, but I didn't like that either. Based on what I saw I didn't like it, and it didn't appeal to me. Perfectly fine to formulate an opinion based on that.

Also good move continuing to badmouth Korra, when you again know nothing about it. You not enjoying it gives you really no ground to continue insulting it here, which is a Thread made to support Korra, not to bash it. Yet here you are, continuing to do so, when you know the fans of it are here. So you're just basically asking for attention at this point. You're a borderline Troll, at least with this Topic, I can't speak for other topics on this board, but here you've just come off as a pretentious asshole where if we disagree with you, you really have to hammer in how we're wrong for liking something just because you think it's a Failure.
Why are you here dude? Seriously. You keep posting and as you can see all you're doing is ticking people off. Stop posting here. You've successfully ruined this thread with your comments.

Guys, let it f***ing go.
So what if people didn't like the series. You do, so it shouldn't matter if someone didn't.
Move on.

I don't care if you don't like the series, my problem is his opinion isn't valid, and he CONTINUES to badmouth the series in a Thread made for Support for Korra. That's not giving your opinion that's just continuing to take shots to CAUSE an argument.
If he wants to make his own "Avatar Korra was a Failure" Thread then he is more than happy to do so, but he has made himself unwelcome to this Thread with his comments.

I only just learned of this.
Personally... Meh. I just wish the show would end already. The first season was great, the second I sat through nearly the entire thing as terrible as it was but finally the episode before the two-part finale broke me and I just plain didn't bother watching it. Watched part of the third season premiere and it seemed to have all of the same issues I had with the second season so I haven't bothered with the rest of it.
I feel pretty torn on the whole Korra thing. On one hand, I'd like to see these guys have the chance to do something else as good as Avatar (or that first season) and with how badly the show's fallen apart ratings-wise that's very unlikely. On the other, this show itself is largely awful and I'd really rather it stop limping to the finish line and just collapse already.
