2 big games in the Premier League today, Newcastle v Sunderland & Liverpool v Arsenal.
Looking forward to Niall Quinn's completely unbiased commentary today in the Sunderland game...
Arsenal must win at Anfield today Liverpool are there for the taking and we need to get revenge for last year's 5-1 embarrasment though the thought of Sterling running at Mertesacker does scare me.

I f***ing hate football.
I'll give Quinn his due he was nowhere near as biased as last time. Still a shit commentator though.
Alan Pardew becomes the first Newcastle manager to lose 4 derbies in a row. It's the first time we have ever lost 4 derbies in a row. Since we don't bother with cups (the club's words) these are the most important games of our season and he's failed 4 times in a row.

Going from being the first team to beat Chelsea this season to 3 defeats in a row is strange for Newcastle. But just look at Leicester, beat Man U 5-3 in September, haven't won since.

what i don't get about soccer/football is that i don't know what determines managers to get fired after one year and others stay longer despite doing awful maybe someone can explain it to me

Some owners want success instantly and if they aren't getting results, then off to the dole cue they go and replaced by someone they think will give them results/Trophies.

Arsenal weren't good enough to win really, we took our chances but other than that were awful. Need to start beating the big sides if were gonna make top 4 again.
And honestly I'm tired of that being our ambition yet again.

Apparently Alan pardew is going to be the new boss of crystal palace Interesting, especially since he is still employed with Newcastle. But if he does sign with Palace, I don't think Newcastle will have to pay out his contract as they would if they got rid of him and they could get money. Still don't understand it from Pardew's point of view unless there was massive pressure from above to get him out. Maybe they threatened to give him nothing for the transfer window. Otherwise it makes no sense from Pardew, because Palace is a real mess.

It's a job down south where he's from just like Reading, West Ham, Southampton & Charlton were. He wants to go home. Hopefully if he does go to Palace Newcastle fans will thank him instead of just thinking "Good riddance".

I get the connection with the club and going home, but going to Palace could very well mean he is managing in the Championship next season and it will not easy keeping them up. Interesting enough, it seems he will still get compensation from Newcastle and Ashley wasn't going to give him anything for the transfer window. In a way it looks like Newcastle was ready to move on, but due to Ashley's good relationship with Pardew, he allowed him to leave on his own terms rather than sacking him. I would also guess that Newcastle already has someone lined up for the job if they are this willing to let him leave. In the end, if this deal goes through, looks like Pardew will be going to a club that wants him there and Newcastle fans will be happy to see him go. The only question for Newcastle is will the replacement do better and who will it be?

Looks like Premier League sackings are now coming in fast, with West Brom sacking Alan Irvine.

Apparently Fabricio Coloccini is the favorite for the Newcastle job. Yes, the center back and team captain.

Honestly I can't believe he did as well as he did. He was in way over his head and now he could end up as a Championship manager after being Everton's youth coach.
