Nitro was a 1 hour show from 9/4/95 to 5/13/96. 5/20/96 was a 90-minute show. 5/27/96 was the first 2 hour show. The 7/1/96 show is currently the only show missing from the Network from 95-96 (don't know why). Nitro was pre-empted on 3/4/96 and 4/8/96 so for those of you wondering, those aren't missing episodes.

Jesus, did they spend the entire summer of '96 at Disney World? Only from July 8-August 5, then they were back on the road after the Hog Wild PPV.

Jesus, did they spend the entire summer of '96 at Disney World? Due to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Most of WCW's traveling production crew was working on the Summer Games so WCW moved in to Universal Studios. I'm kinda glad they did it outdoors for a cool look instead of just doing it in the future Impact Zone

Ep 83 was pretty solid. The matches were Savage vs. Luger, Guerrero vs. Malenko, and Flair vs. Anderson. Plus, Hulk Hogan had his mustache shaved. There were so many things that would make today's WWE fans go nuts. Like the Giant single-handedly squashing the tag team champion American Males and WCW cutting away from the Guerrero/Malenko match to show Hogan arriving to the building.

There was also an episode in January where Hogan beat the US champion One Man Gang in a 3 minutes glorified squash match. So WCW beat WWE to that by about 14 years.

Speaking of Hogan getting his moustache shaved... Anyone notice how close he came to losing his nose when Giant slammed down onto the canvas?

The debut episode is f***ing awful.
Pilman V Lyger was a botchfest
Mongo is nearly as shitty as Rob Bartlett.
running a mall makes them look pretty busch league.
They seem to take every opportunity to allude to WWF related things.
I'd say most of the 1995 Raws I have seen are more entertaining than this. Sting V Flair wasn't too bad though I guess.
Also am I meant to be excited about Luger? he's basically WWF's failed attempt at manufacturing a main eventer right? Wasn't he basically a midcarder before he jumped to WCW? why should I care about him and Hogan feuding?
I assume it picks up?

He was a former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, US Champion, Television Champion, and Tag Team Champion. After Hogan left WWF for WCW, the WWF began pushing Luger as the new face of the company. Did it work? Not really. But he did co-win a Royal Rumble and got a WWF Championship match at Wrestlemania X.

Well if I can nippick was not a former TV champion at the time, he didn't win the TV title in his first NWA / WCW stint. Luger getting a title shot at Hogan, well I assume he had a return clause in the contract from Superbrawl II, he just waited 3 and half years to use it.

Watching these old Nitros and I have to say man I didn't realize they botched as much as they did and wow, half the guys got gassed out halfway into the match. I will say the early NWO episodes are the best. Watching the one where the NWO first take over Nitro. Hall and Nash are comedy gold on the mic.
Hall - "Powers is definitely full of beef tonight. He looks stacked and ready to go." Nash - "He is, Powers is jacked by all means." Hall - "Oh yeah, all juiced up and ready to go." Nash - "All the guys at the gym think Jimmy is looking good. Jimmy, Jimmy you're looking GOOD!!"

I'm loving the hell out of these Nitros. It almost like I am watching the shows new as I never saw most of these episodes.
