The finale didn't really do it for me, then again the final two seasons didn't do it for me. At least it wasn't horrible and there was some closure. But man oh man, could they not have gotten better CGI for Jax's ride into the truck? The CGI was terrible, but I was honestly worried Sutter would go all Mad Max on us and replicate Toecutter's gruesome death.

It was ok. My favorite moment was Jax telling Nero that he wanted his sons to hate the thought of him. Just heartbreaking.

Yeah, in some fashion I can understand the complaints. On the other hand I think a lot of fans were expecting too much insanity right from the start and didn't understand the slow build to what eventually transpired in the finale. But I totally get where they're coming from with their views though. I remember watching the finale and thinking to myself just how sad, heartbreaking, and tragic it was that he was truly at peace with the thought of dying. Specifying to Nero that he didn't want Abel or Thomas to know about him, to hate the thought of him, and that it's better for their lives if wasn't involved in it due to him being a criminal and a murderer which is and was true, but you know he tried as best as he could to raise the children and do the right thing.
In retrospect I don't think he became worse than Clay. He tried to establish the MC as a legitimate operation and move away from the guns, drugs, and violence only for him to lose his way after Tara was killed.

Yeah that finale was pretty much what I expected with the whole tying up loose ends thing. Though I was surprised with SAMCRO double-crossing the Irish Kings and going with Connor for the Mayan's gun sulpplier. Also, I wasn't too fond of some of the religious implications with this episode, but I won't go into that. Then there was that horrible CG during the final chase which I could have gone without.
Still, I'm glad they went with an actual ending for Jax instead of leaving things open to interpretation like some other shows have done.

I think they went with the CGI effect because Sutter most likely didn't want to show Jax actually hitting the truck and dying. We know he died obviously, something just tells me he didn't want to show it. Seeing Jax actually die would've been too sad to see and that's saying something since we've seen Clay, Piney, Opie, and Juice die.
