That was 72 minutes of catharsis.

Finally saw last night's episode. Finally it doesn't feel like they are just...ahem...spinning their wheels. To me, this episode (and the last one as well) have really got this season back on track.

I am guessing everyone is still reeling from last nights episode? {Spoiler}I felt really bad for Juice. Granted it was a quick death like Jax promised, but did he really deserve that? Juice should've lived in my opinion. {Spoiler}Very surprised he pulled the trigger on Unser and Gemma. Was thinking that either Abel would kill Gemma or that he would leave the gun for her to kill herself.

{Spoiler}It's become apparent that Jax is prepared to die and knows he is going to die. Now is the club forced to do it? How does he meet Mr. Mayhem? I know people on Facebook are preparing he'll die the same way his father did.
And that it'll end with Abel reading Jax's manuscripts while sitting next to his grave. I know Sutter took inspiration from Hamlet, I just don't want Jax to die.

{Spoiler}As bad as I felt for Gemma and Juice, in a way their deaths were their best solutions. Gemma couldn't live with the guilt anymore and it had destroyed her, at the end she was at peace and knew it had to be done. In a way Jax was less awful for killing her, because keeping her alive would have been more painful. Juice's entire story the last three seasons has been a tragedy and while you felt bad for him, he finally did something he couldn't for those past couple of years, accepted his fate. Now it seems like Jax has accepted his and I am guessing he will go the way his father did. But if this is the case, it makes Clay look less like a power hungry sadistic bastard and actually a sympathetic character that could never tell Jax because of club rules.

{Spoiler}I've been wanting Juice to get it ever since the whole "oh noes I'm black y'all" storyline. Instead of telling the club that he allegedly loves so much about it, he chose to rat on that same club to the Feds. Then all the running since he couldn't handle the consequences. So him finally accepting his fate was satisfying.
Though the one character that I think was dumber than Juice is Unser. He was pretty much put in friendzone lv. 99 by Gemma and still chose to stay and get caught in all the drama. He should have just packed up and got the hell out of Charming the second his stationed closed up and live out his remaining years in silence before the cancer eventually got him (which the show somehow forgot about).
As for Gemma, that felt so unsatisfying. After all those years of lies, manipulations and deaths she gets to die on her own terms. She didn't deserve that honor. If anything, a worse fate would have been for Jax to not pull the trigger, tell her to go and that she could never see any of her family again, since that was what meant the most to her. Or since Jax knows that he's meeting Mr. Mayhem, he could have at least told her that all her lies got her last living son killed before shooting her, or even have her be present when that time comes.
Anyway, Gemma's fate was pretty much the last thing I wanted to see from this show. Now that it's passed, the next episode is gonna feel like an epilogue more than a finale, since we pretty much know what's gonna happen to Jax. It seems like it's gonna tie up all the loose ends with all the gangs, as well as his kids, leaving Jax to ride off into the sunset on his dad's bike.......and right into a semi.

I'm not going to spoiler tag my shit. It's been a day since it debuted and the thread is about current episodes....So if that bothers you look no further.
I have to say that although it was foreshadowed many times, I still believed Juice was going to live. He seemed the perfect candidate to be the "Horatio" of this version of Hamlet. Since Ops death I really only had this dog in the fight. We slowly saw everyone become way more evil after Opie died, except Juice who always had a heart. It's been incredibly sad to see him treated in such a demeaning way this season.
Unser dying was the only thing that made me go wtf though, cause I didn't expect it until it happened. Gemmas death was long and played out and not at all satisfying.

I don't have cable at the moment, so this is the first season of the entire show I hav seen first run. I'll catch up as soon as I can, but I have to ask:
How's Chib doing? He's pretty much my favorite character on the show, and if he's the guy to be left standing at the end, I'll be eternally happy.

Chibbs gets laid a lot this season and has a lot of character development. Though IMO they spent a lot of time shaping Chibbs in the early seasons with the war with the Irish and Jimmy, so it was a little unnecessary to focus as much as they did.

I watched the first and second season last week and I firmly believe that Chib, and maybe Bobby, are the father figures Jax really needed to look up to the most. But that's just me.

The club was all he had and the fact that he accepted his fate and didn't beg made me respect him even more. What's with this fascination of prison rape that Sutter has? Oh, and seriously, there has to be some sort of payback for Tully. I hate the idea of him possibly getting away unscathed from all of this. I'd like to believe that perhaps Jax has a plan in place to kill him too?

That is Jax always does have a plan. I keep thinking with his mayhem vote stuff that there is one last plan in place, but the dude became Clay and did things that he has to answer too. It's sad that the main character, the hero, became what he has. I still wanna be able to cheer for him, but I kinda can;t wait for him to die (if he goes out like Hamlet that is)

Tig has had such depth though beginning with his remorse for killing Donna, and his love for his dog, then that whole Pope storyline with his daughters. Tigs proved his worth as a character and Kim as an actor. It will be sad if he goes out badly.

Just saying that, in the context of the narrative, if Jax didn't grow up looking up to guys like Clay and to a lesser extent Tig, their lives might have turned out way differently. But then we'd have a really boring show.

He lost Tara in an horrible fashion and just lost his way. He was attempting to have the club go in an legitimate fashion and away from the guns, violence, and drugs. It wasn't until Gemma killed Tara that he went into "I don't give a shit."
