Maybe have the feud not be complete dookie before they worry about sexual tension.

As has been mentioned, it shouldn't be a big deal, or any different than say Goldust and Terri 20 years ago. Human attraction will always be part of storytelling, especially very straightforward storytelling like wrestling. And it's okay to acknowledge that people like kissing eachother etc, you can even show it in TVPG.

WWE's booking of AJ and Paige would cause most human brains to explode
AJ is the champion, Paige nervously walks out and gets pushed down. AJ for no reason agrees to a title match and loses. Paige acts kinda heelish as champion. AJ comes back and wins. Paige wins it back. Paige says they are friends, or frenemies or some other shit that Stephanie heard on Keeping Up With the Kardashits. Paige starts skipping. AJ starts acting crazy. Lesbian stuff starts to happen. Paige is still skipping for some reason. More lesbian stuff. AJ imitates Paige. Stephanie decides to give Nikki a title shot, some other stuff happens....
I don't get it.

If I remember right, there were some pictures a while back of Paige in a bar making out with some blonde girl. I may be mistaken, but I believe Paige is dating one of the guys from Stick To Your Guns.

I find the AJ/Paige angle really entertaining myself. Agreed from a babyface/heel perspective it's a bit messy, but the crowd seems interested, and I find it funny and pretty good. AJ and Paige are really really entertaining with it, lots of funny faces and whatnot.

Says a lot about the mentity of sponsors, censors etc that AJ kissing Kane or Punk = wholesome family fun. AJ even suggesting to kiss Paige = "risky." So much for progressive thinking. Well there's the fact that the former was done for storyline purposes and the latter is primarily a sex appeal thing. There's definitely a difference between one and the other. I'm not saying it's right or wrong (for the talent I wish WWE could do better by them, but you know, like, I'll watch it) but I wouldn't cry homophobia about sponsors not digging it. That's a good point. However, I think that even if it was for storyline purpose, it would be considered risky. We're getting there. We've made a lot of progress in this arena, but there's still work to do, and it's going to take some time for values to truly change.

OH MAN TWO OK LOOKING CHICKS ARE SUDDENLY, FOR NO REASON GIVEN, TOTALLY KISSING AND STUFF.
Seriously, this isn't the 90s where it takes 2 minutes to look at a picture of Sunny, WWE. This ALSO isn't 2003-2004 where Torrie & Dawn Marie, FAR more attractive and believable women were making out and it was awkward because it was SUPPOSED to be awkward, not awkward because Paige and AJ are some of the least believable and least seductive divas on the roster.
Aksana was believably seductive; Paige is not. AJ tries too hard. Just have them wrestle or something.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. I don't think reducing to two talented performers to 'PG HLA' is really progressive either.

This is just getting sad. The creative meeting went something like this.
1. Sexual Tension 2. ? 3. Profit

I wasn't aware there was sexual tension. The whole thing has been about as sexy as bingo night at the JCC. That said, I don't particularly think of sexual tension as a top priority in my wrestling feuds.

I wish I was writing the Divas division. I'd do it for free. Steph could even take credit for it.

AJ beats everybody on the roster. Paige challenges her. They get into a feud over who is the better wrestler. Eventually Paige wins the title.
That's all they had to do!
Then they could have brought Emma into the feud and continued with the great matches these three can produce.

Paige vs AJ in a title feud should not have been difficult at all. All that was needs was AJ as the dominant and slightly deranged champion suddenly finding herself challenged by a determined and intense newcomer who looks like she has an actual shot of beating her. That's it, very straightforward. No need for multiple title swaps, no need for repeat face/heel turns, no need for lesbian innuendo. How on earth WWE managed to turn this into what it is honestly is beyond me.

Zod knows that in a title feud, the title should be an afterthought.

I may be mistaken, but I believe Paige is dating one of the guys from Stick To Your Guns. You could be right. I mean she likes dudes I'm sure but she might like girls too, not really positive. Either way, I'm not sure how they could evolve this storyline into one of those types of angles. I mean, did they have a secret meeting late night after a show? I don't know. It hasn't really gone in that territory yet.

The crowds aren't even reacting to the sexual tension aspect of it.

The crowd aren't even reacting to the sexual tension aspect of it. At times, it almost feels like it was. I recall another report that Vince wasn't completely some on Paige to begin with and was "relieved" that her initial title run fizzled and was anxious to get the belt back in AJ. Given the way she was booked, it feels like Vince really did book her line deal because he didn't want anyone threatening AJ's spot. That's totally speculative, but it really feels like that to me.

Where's the "On" switch when you need the writers from the Attitude/Ruthless Aggression eras? Seems AJ hasn't been changed a little since she debuted.

Having just seen the "make out" pics all I can do is laugh at how awkward that they are. Such a half-assed attempt by a couple of young girls to get guys attention in a club/bar.
