I had a crush on Angela Watson but knew when Christine Lakin grew up she would be the looker. The daughter from My Two Dads was the oldest daughter in this show, if memory serves me well. I had a small crush on her back in the day, though the flame I carried for the Lubbock Babes (particularly Jamie Luner) was more intense. Of the Lubbock Babes I choose JoAnne Willete. I know they dressed her to look plain on the show but outside of Just the Ten of Us she was gorgeous.

I remember watching the show (awesome theme song). I also remember it was aired on The Hub last year, but for some reason it didn't make it through one entire playthrough of the whole series before it was yanked from Hub's schedule.

I'd like to think that the Lamberts were secretly murderers. It all started with original Mark, it seemed that Frank didn't like him, so they offed him. They kidnapped the kid from Beethoven and brainwashed him into believing he was their son. Next to go was the mother and sister of Carol because they ate all the food. Life seemed to be good after that. Unfortunately the Lamberts craved blood and concluded that Cody would be next. They brutally attacked him and left him for dead. To fill the void, they figured they'd bring their friend Flash in. Unfortunately, Cody was still alive and well and blackmailed the Lamberts, with no choice...they killed Flash. Carol and Frank had a seventh child Lily, unfortunately Karen being the attention whore didn't like the baby getting attention, so it was killed. The Lamberts once again resorted to kidnapping the Life cereal girl. By this point, it was too much and Brendon was going to inform on them, so JT and Cody went Joe Pesci in Casino on him. Jean Luc was brought in, but Frank recognized he was actually Balki, so he didn't make it out alive either. After that, the family went on the run. Perhaps Carol one day woke up and realized it was all a dream, then discovered Frank showering. This sounds like the plot of a season of American Horror Story. BOOK IT!!!

While I liked most sitcoms from the 90s, Step By Step was one of those that I just couldn't get into.

I know Urkel showed up on an episode of Full House.... but didn't he show up on Step By Step as well? yeah twice in the first season as Marks scientist buddy pen pal. Then again for about half a second in the last season. Al got a small role in a movie. Urkel was the guy who claps the board before takes. Didn't even have a speaking role. It was more like a "Hey look. Urkel is on CBS now too" kind of thing

Oh, yes, she was quite a looker. I still thought she was pretty even in her tomboy phase. However, I didn't like how Al became Karen's lackey in the later seasons, though.

Outside of Boy Meets World all these TGIF shows are kind of awful, have aged badly and make me appreaciate my parents for having to be full grown adults watching that dreck with me and my sister.

Sometimes it's ugly to face the truth of how nostalgia makes stuff we saw as kids so much better than they were, or how our age at the time does the same thing. I loved Volton as a kid...saw it again a few years ago and man is it terrible. Transformers probably wasn't great either, but I still enjoyed it a few years ago when I had the Hub channel. My guess is He Man hasn't aged to well either.

To Many Cooks!
I remember liking this show as a kid, but not being super into it. Then the goofy neighbor took over the Kickboxer franchise and I was like Wha?
Also the oldest boy was shot in a drive by like ten years ago I think. Not killed, but got shot.

Didn't they do a live action Beavis and Butthead? yep. several times. I like rewatching these old TGIF shows. I find myself watching from a very different point of view as an adult now and it almost makes them different shows than what I remember. For instance. When I was younger. I didn't realize how controlling Carol is or how much of a snot Dana is. I remembered The Lamberts as the trouble makers. But re watching it now. I see the Fosters as stuck up and the Lamberts to be pretty cool with the situation most of the time. Al was bonding with Carol and sticking up for Mark within the first few episodes. Also the oldest boy was shot in a drive by like ten years ago I think. Not killed, but got shot. Yeah, Brandon Call. He was followed by a guy who cornered him on a dead end street and shot him in both arms. It was shortly (like a few weeks) after Sasha Mitchel (Cody/Kickboxer) was arrested and fired from the show. It was between seasons 5 and 6. The show decided to wait until Brandon healed and the show went on Hiatus. It was canceled at the end of that season the CBS picked it up for 1 season where it never got an official ending. So dude didn't kill Brandon. But he did help kill the show.

I've watched older shows on Nick at Nite, and they're still pretty enjoyable. At least a hell of a lot more interesting than the shit that's on TV today. And even if you eventually grow out of them, that doesn't mean the shows were bad, just that your tastes have changed over the years.

I thought of Staci Keanan as the "It Girl" in the early 90's then she didn't go on to do much of anything after this show. I think Karen was hot too and she went on to do less.

Cody "The Code Man" was one of those characters I enjoyed as a kid, but I'm sure he'd annoy the hell out of me if I watched it now.

I think Karen was hot too and she went on to do less. She got screwed/ Her parents mishandled her money and she lost 2.5 million dollars. So pretty much all her money from the show was taken from her. in 2000 she started C.A.S.T (Child Actors Supporting Themselves) to try to stop the same thing from happening to others.

I think with nostalgia, as with all things, it requires some perspective. Even in Step by Step's heyday, it was never considered a "good" show. It can still be enjoyed, but by someone with at least some knowledge of the show or what the TGIF lineup was about. I would consider Family Matters a pretty funny show up until they went crazy with the ridiculousness and that's after they introduced a fully sentient robot and a transformation machine.

Looking back on some of the ABC sitcoms that were on back in the day, I think that the ones that aired on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays were better like "Coach" and "Home Improvement." The TGIF lineup doesn't hold up. I know some of you will argue about "Full House" because that aired on Tuesdays, but make no mistake that it aired on Fridays as well before the move in time slots.
