sardines and fromunda cheese for all I really want Mean Gene to induct them. They may finally lick the remaining hair off his head. Both of them. ~ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan

First Rikishi, and now The Bushwhackers? This is the year WWE is trying to validate Koko B Ware being a hall of famer, by bringing the average so far down that he looks OK.

Do you folks understand how over the Bushwackers were? They were outpopping people in 1996 when they were complete part-timers. People will make comparisons to Koko, but they're more on the Hacksaw part of the spectrum - gimmicks, yes, but deserving to be in because they were just that damn popular. This would be an induction that will just make people happy. My one hope is that when they make their entrance at the HoF, that everyone in the building is doing the Bushwacker walk. I think, outside this forum, I've mostly given up on wrestling at this point in my life. But if what you said (which just has to be) doesn't happen I will indeed give it up forever. You rotten millenial kids can have this wrestling thing and you can keep it.

From F4WOnline.com:
It is expected that WWE will announce Madusa as one of this year's WWE Hall Of Fame inductees. Madusa worked in WWE as Alundra Blaze and during the Monday Night Wars, infamously threw the WWE Women's Championship in the trash can on a live edition of WCW Monday Nitro.
With Madusa, Kevin Nash, Tatsumi Fujinami and Ray Stevens expected to be the final four inductees, below is a potential look at the final list of inductees for this year's class.
- Randy Savage - Rikishi - Arnold Schwarzenegger - The Bushwhackers - Ray Stevens - Kevin Nash - Madusa - Tatsumi Fujinami

Some Japanese media were saying Tenryu was going in this year.

I wish Elizabeth was inducted too. I get why not but would be sweet.

I feel the need to make this point every year. The WWE Hall of Fame isn't for you. It's for the wrestlers. Do Rude, Demolition, Vader, the Freebirds, and about 100 other guys deserve to be in? Yes. They can't all go in at once and maybe the alarming rate at which wrestlers die is what makes people think everyone should go in every year. Luke and Butch entertained me every bit as much as Demolition did. Hell, when I watch old PPVs, I still move my arms like the Bushwackers did, I don't dress up in bondage gear when the Demos come out. It's not a real Hall of Fame, it's a nice night before the biggest show of the year, for wrestlers to have nice things said about them and to make a speech, you're just along for the ride. All the guys fans want in will eventually go in, if for no other reason than numbers. Relax. That "Relax" seemed a bit condescending Cole. Point is we want people like the Freebirds, Vader and Demolition in sooner while they're still able to attend the ceremony. I've nothing against the Bushwackers going but seeing the lack of a Macho speech this year, and just how close we were to not getting Warrior's speech, I totally understand people lobbying for their favorites. You might just have to relax yourself and deal with it sir. And about the Freebirds... WWE has to fill 100,000-120,000 seats next year in Texas. It just makes sense. I know, but fans get too worked up about people like, just picking a name almost at random, Koko B. Ware being in the Hall of Fame when others aren't. There's more that goes into HOF selections than just noteworthy performers, who can draw, where the ceremony is, political reasons......Freebirds are in next year, so I don't see the big rush or the bother to complain that they aren't.

debating aside, this class still seems lackluster compared to the previous 2.

Having Savage as a headliner is a major downer for the night. The HOF is traditionally a feel-good event and inducting a beloved legend like Savage can make for a depressing finale.
I can't help but feel like inducting Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rikishi, and The Buswhackers are strategic moves to lighten up the event and keep things positive and upbeat.

Savage won't headline, he'll be second to last with someone yet unannounced but I will tag going last. WWE will not have a dead guy (no Taker jokes) headlining unless it is Vince. {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Nash is set to get the headline spot with Savage being the draw.

Is that a prediction or has that been reported? I've been wondering how they'd handle a deceased headliner, but I didn't really consider this option. These things don't really bother me much, but that's a lackluster headliner.

Here's a fun stat for you. The Bushwhackers are the only people in wrestling history to have a 5-star rated match (vs The Fantastics as part of the 1986 NWA Crockett Cup tag tournament) and a minus 5-star rated match (vs Iron Sheik/Nikolai Volkoff on the ill-fated Heroes Of Wrestling show) by the Wrestling Observer.

I loved these guys as a Kid.
Though later on when I watched a few of their matches I was like "What did I ever see In these 2?"
None the less, not my first choice Tag Team for the HOF but I can think of worse.
Not a very strong Hall of Fame class this year truth be told, Guess we got spoilt the last 2 years.

I always wondered: were Butch and Luke actually cousins?

I always wondered: were Butch and Luke actually cousins? No, they were pretty much what Edge/Christian were in terms of relationship To think though that these two started wrestler in the mid 60s

The Bushwhackers' induction also fills out two more Survivor Series teams that now have all its members in: the 1989 Roddy's Rowdies (with Piper and Snuka) and the 1990 Alliance (with Volkoff and Tito). The 1991 team with the Rockers now has 3 of 4 members, with everyone but Jannetty inducted.
