They get fired publically and all they can do is slightly hang their heads and pout. Pathetic. No last words, no act of defiance, just getting ready to go record the next Light Skin Keith Sweat anthem.
Actually f*** that, Drake is tougher. At least he goes from 0 to 100 real quick.

Truth be told I kinda see why they would react that way. How exactly should they feel? All night they had been beaten up and put in impossible scenarios. Why should they want to work there? Why should they even care when all their hard work (especially Ziggler's) was thrown out the window? I think we might have some Sting disciples upcoming however, haha.

Dolph the type of babyface who would hit a heel with a chair and feel bad about it.

I dunno about that soft. I can't recall any wrestlers using a lint roller while they're at an NBA game.

You know what folks, Its a running joke that everybody turns on Sting and he's the dumbest man in wrestling, but here's the the thing. The guy had such fire, such intensity, such a sense of pissed off babyface energy, that you just sensed he was going to make any betrayal pay a hell of a price. Hell when Flair turned on him at Havoc 95, Sting wasn't putting on the surprised hurt face. He was stunned for a few seconds and then tried to beat the shit out of the Nature Boy as quickly as he could.
Hell Dusty got the shit beaten out of him time and time again, openly said in promos that he was outmatched, and still one believed Flair was so screwed once Rhodes got his hands on him.
I just don't get it. This smug 20+ bragging crap, even if it wasn't old, doesn't compare to a heated segment where all of four of the guys are being held back by security while the Authority are shouting about how the three of them are fired and are to never come back. It gets both sides over and gives the audience something to be a part of rather than watching their heroes passively get belittled for minutes on end. I actually tried to imagine any top or prominent upper-midcard babyface just standing there looking sad, and very few came to mind.

There seems to just in general be this thing in modern WWE where you are helpless when faced with authority. Even if you do wish to rebel against them, you can only do it within their parameters and by playing by their rules. Nobody ever just decides, "F*** it!" and goes swinging for Triple H despite all of the times it could have easily happened. Hell, tonight the four faces should have shoved Stephanie aside and then just done one finisher after another to him - why not? They'd have to be idiots to not know what was coming, might as well make him suffer on your way out.
It feels like a movie under the Hayes Code or something, where those in positions of power are to be respected and if they are doing something wrong, you are to treat it entirely as a flaw of the person while not painting the company as a whole as in the wrong despite the fact that it's allowing this shit to go down.
It's probably more realistic, yeah, but realism makes for boring stories and terrible wish fulfillment.

It's like the reverse Attitude Era, where instead of openly defying McMahon and raising hell, Stone Cold just defers to him and grovels while being told he's fired.

Also, I'm guessing that the rest of the babyfaces trust John.
Cause if you let him, here's what he'll do He'll take care of you

No one is softer than Drake. Getting bitch slap by Diddy in a club is worst than getting yelled at by the Authority.

Collect unemployment or get beaten by Kane and Luke Harper?
I'd have thanked them on the way out.

It'd be fine with me if there were characters and it fit them. Having "soft" babyfaces is fine. Having babyfaces who aren't particularly aggressive, even when being treated unfairly, is fine. But it has to fit the character! I can't really see Ziggler, to the extent that he even has any character consistency, having to be held back by security. And Rowan's on another plane anyway, so who knows what he'd do. But Ryback? Dude should be going apeshit.

I've joked before about bad WWE being a crappy office party with forced "fun" and people in charge so out of touch with the interests of the employees that its just an asinine and miserable experience. And tonight just continued that metaphor with various guys just standing there as their boss insulted them, treated them like crap, and mocked their value, because hey he's the boss, they're employees, and they have to take it. And if WWE were a gritty live action dramedy highlighting the dreary existence of so many within the corporate culture, (and in a darkly amusing note, a proper illustration of the current brand of courage in the WWE locker room) then I would have found tonight quite well done.
But its a live action, arena based cartoonish sports entertainment program where one wants to either think the babyfaces are cool/awesome guys or you at least vicariously live through them. A lot of top babyfaces fit into the first, second, or both categories. Neither one applies to a lot of the guys I see tonight. Why would I want to live through someone who just frowns while being disgraced on live TV? What is the cool appeal of a guy who gets fired and just looks sad? WWE will call them superstars, but that's not a lot of what I saw tonight.
And I'm sure WWE will do some "crazy" segment in the future where the guys are now all of a sudden full of piss and vinegar and Cena will do his outraged shouting promo declaring he's going to raise hell and such for what the Authority have done. But one can only watch so many of these lifeless dreary segments and start to see how fake and put upon the supposed following segments will seem, because the babyfaces won't seem angry because they're real people who are responding naturally; they'll seem angry because now its the time in the script for them to express that.
And its not the same.
