You've got to love it. It's got to the point now with TNA where the swerve is when they don't do a swerve. Which, if I may give props to 2012 TNA again, is why the Eric Young-ODB wedding was so cool. It was a wedding that was successfully pulled off. I can't think of another time that's happened.

Hey the WEDDING went off without a hitch! The reception is separate matter (Alternatively: I'm not married I assumed that was normal <_< >_>)

Didn't get to watch last night, but this certainly sounds Russo-ific. If they treat some of this as a soft reboot of sorts, it could be alright: just basically handwave some of what came before on Spike and answer questions with "Look, it's a new channel/time/roster/etc., it's just what we're rolling with now". If this tries to connect everything with what came before and becomes yet another "Evil heel group that'll disband by this time next year attempts a takeover", then you guys have already said everything there is to be said about that. That said, I have a hard time acknowledging a heel "thug" group with Low Ki in it that doesn't include Homicide. It just doesn't feel right. To be fair, when I think of the word "thug", Eric Young is one of the first things that pops in my head, so that compensates for it.

I don't want to be a Harry Hater but everyone else is so why can't I? Why is it that day after what should have been one of their biggest shows in years I go to their website and the first image that pops up is this?: And why do her eyes look like their pointing N/N-E and N/N-W? Tazz called Busted Open Radio and ripped them a new one when they didn't mention Bobby Roode winning the title a few months ago. It was three images into the slideshow on their own website before Lashley winning the title on their anticipated launch show was mentioned.

Pros: All the matches bar the KOs match Kong Returns Josh Matthews Interview Face Tenay The crowd EC3 and Tyrus stuff
Cons: KOs Match New Heel Stable Crowd Noise Editing
Well, I guess I like TNA now. It wasn't the best thing I've ever seen on wrestling television but it was good, enjoyable show. Let's hope they can keep it up.

I really enjoyed it. There was a nice focus on in ring action, and all the storyline stuff seemed to actually be about in ring action. The new backstage segments flowed well. The knockouts battle royal wasn't great but all the other matches delivered, and I'm pretty hyped to see where they go from here.
A stable consisting of MVP, Kenny King, Joe, Low Ki with maybe Eric Young and Lashley could be really good.
My only problem is who are the faces to oppose them there? Roode, Angle, Aries? Lashley turning face? Magnus? Maybe a couple of debuts?

I went into it with incredible optimism that things would be different now, which was really stupid of me. My first Impact in months and it was still as disappointing as ever. Kong's return and no enay were the only highlights for me in a show they've had forever to plan.
Oh, Aries vs. Ki was a highlight as well.

You know what gets me is the interview with JR. To paraphrase JR, "You know the fans are going to be expecting changes". And what do they give us? a clusterf*** to start the show. Austin Aries X division champ (which you know he'll cash in soon). And a swerve ending that makes no friggin' sense!
Changes.
You know I'm curious how many turns have occurred since MVP first stepped out of that Scottish limo. I understand TNA has a very thin roster right now, but TNA can do better than this.

Probably because TNA only exists so that Dixie can pretend that she's in the entertainment world.

After watching WWE exclusively recently I was generally impressed with almost all of the inring work and though the roster brawl and heel stable tropes were present, sadly, I'm generally interested as to why this show was a dissapointment? Is this usually how bad TNA is? My brother gave up on TNA 6 months ago so I stopped bothering as well. Is this really as bad as it gets? Or is it a case of getting your steak well done when you wanted it medium? Not what you were expecting but still in essence what you ordered?

Probably because TNA only exists so that Dixie can pretend that she's in the entertainment world. The only reason Bob keeps TNA around anymore is cause he knows everything his dim witted daughter touches turns to manure and doesn't want her involving herself with Panda and ruining them as well. This is the guy who wanted to sell the company but wanted her to still be in control and be CEO of it after he did.

is Homicide even in TNA anymore? It seemed like he would be perfect for that group.

Or is it a case of getting your steak well done when you wanted it medium? Not what you were expecting but still in essence what you ordered? I think a bit of it was unrealistic expectations. WWE's been underwhelming for a while, and after loving the recent ROH and NJPW PPVs, I was really hoping TNA would return to its old 2005 - 2009 viable alternative to WWE self. After a horrific 2014, this was TNA's chance to rebuild and reinvent itself, but it was the same stuff they've done for a while now. The match quality wasn't particularly low, but Aries/Low-Ki was really the only thing worth talking about. The finish of the tag title match was a mess, and the Knockouts Belt not only had to be defended in a Battle Royal, but it even weirdly took a backseat to the return of Robbie E. EC3 is always entertaining, but shaving JB's head didn't feel like something anyone should care about. Oh, and while Kurt Angle is definitely a name and a good choice to start the show, I'm not sure having two guys wrestling in street clothes be the first match people see on your new channel is a good idea. But I do get that they're starting off with an "anything can happen" feel, so I guess it works. I really liked the opening video package, but the brawl I'm mixed on. It again fits that feel they wanted, but it was probably too big of a mess to open your reintroduction with. And a lot of people have done a great job of explaining why that ending was the pits. If I'm an experienced TNA viewer, its TNA heel stable #100, and if I'm a new viewer, I don't know these guys who turned heel, so it wouldn't have any kind of surprise or emotional effect on me. Like I said, I went in very optimistic and hopeful, but it was mostly the same old TNA, but I wanted more of the old TNA. It was an alright wrestling show, but it isn't what I wanted from the new era of Impact. But who knows what effect it'll have in drawing a new crowd. That was step one, or misstep one, depending on your POV. TNA was in dire straits last year, and I didn't really get an indication that they're desperate to turn it around.
