Hi guys, long time lurker but had to sign up and comment on TNA's return to Destination America.
I've been a TNA fan for a long time (This year is my 10th year as a TNA fan) and I was really pulling for them this time around. I had this hope in my mind that maybe they had finally turned everything around and finally learned from their mistakes that caused them to be here in the first place. Deep down I knew nothing would change but god damn it I had hope.
I didn't like the start of the show. Every wrestler brawling for absolutely no reason reeks of a B-List Kung Fu movie and the big brawl to start the show was never explained by anyone in TNA. It went too long and Kurt Angle coming out to end it all took too long. An angle that should have been 2-3 minutes tops went for what seemed closer to 10 and I just couldn't get into it.
Kurt Angle and MVP who have been feuding for months verbally have an unhyped street fight on TV. Why not build to this for Lockdown? Why not give that to us next week (This week) and have a hook for the Friday night debut? On a Friday where a majority of that 18-34 demographic are outside socializing a huge match could potentially help you hook the audience instead you throw it away for free here.
The middle of the show was pretty decent. TNA in typical fashion hot shotted The Wolves rematch but Aries Vs Low Ki was strong and The Wolves taking on The Revolution was pretty decent despite it being too soon for them to wrestle again. I have absolutely no interest in Hardys/Wolves which they seem to be teasing but TNA seems to love the 90's nostalgia.
Amazing Kong returning was good. I'm a fan of hers from back in the day and if she still has some talent she's a quality signing. I absolutely despise Havok and have no interest in seeing her take on Kong so hopefully they don't go in that direction.
And then came the main event. TNA had a chance to really solidify Roode by having him go over on Lashley and you could have turned Lashley face (Which is what they seem to want to do) very easily by having him shake Roode's hand afterwards. Instead we have a run in (What took those guys so long to run in by the way?) and heel stable that wants to take over the company number 212. Of course Eric Young joins the group despite the fact he spent a majority of last year fighting against them.
All in all if you skip the beginning and the end you would have had a really good debut. Unfortunately TNA had to mess it up though and that just really disappointed me. I'll tune in next week in hopes that they can do something different but I smell 20-25 minute stable promo and another screwy main event.
