I'll be honest, I get your feelings, and good on you for getting your money back (also good customer service from the cable company), but you did get what you'd paid for anyway.
It's not as if you were somehow prevented from viewing your purchase or anything, ya paid to watch the Rumble, and did so.
That said, all's well that ends well and such.

You're situation is: you paid for something, got what you paid for, and decided to be a whiny bitch about it and get your money back just because you saw that someone else got something half as good a day later for the price of basic cable. I don't blame you for trying, but yeah... someone else having something doesn't take away it's value to you, no matter how much you paid for it. It's a digital transmission of men acting like they're beating the hell out of each other, not a collector's edition Elvis plate. Whether 100 people or 100,000 people purchased the same product it's still the same value to you. Everyone else in the world could have gotten it for free and it doesn't matter... You agreed to pay a price and got what you paid for... anything else is just you being moneygrubbing. You might as well have streamed it illegally. Remind me to never do business with you because you don't seem to get the concept of protecting the value of the product that the consumer buys. Why do you think people bemoan the handling of the 1998 Halloween Havoc main event? Because showing it free decreases the value of the PPV product that people buy the day before. The Halloween Havoc argument doesn't have any bearing here. I am one of those who bought the ppv and had the stream cut out on the hour before the match happened. That justified a refund as you didn't get what you paid for, this isn't the same thing at all. Everyone who paid for the Royal Rumble GOT the Royal Rumble. They're just complaining because others got a lesser version cheaper the next day. I'm not saying that it's a good thing that WWE did it. I'm saying just the opposite. It was a horrible business move and the people who paid full price have every right to be angry. My point was that they technically got what they paid for and should show their issues by not doing business with them again, not by demanding a refund for something that had no issue other than the fact that someone else got it cheaper the next day. That's where my doughnut argument came in, in that they are technically a much less valuable product the second day. No one who buys them fresh has any right to complain about those who buy the day olds in my opinion. Yes, I understand every point you guys have, and agree with most, I'm just saying that it doesn't justify a refund. It justifies the lack of future purchases, it shouldn't negate past ones.

Unless your in a place that doesn't get the network, why did you pay 55 again? Hooray for you, you got your money back but if all things considered this is a fluke. The odds of them showing an event a day after it aired is not going to happen. You paid to view it the day of, anything else after that is up to their discretion. Once again good you got your money back but u made a big stink about this and Raw for what purpose really

I'm a boxing fan, and every major PPV gets shown at a later date (usually the next weekend) on Showtime or HBO (which are subscription channels, sure, but cable TV ain't free, so you're paying for that USA Network too). I don't see anyone upset because what they paid big bucks for showed up shortly after for lesser bucks. But whatever.
What WWE did was not wrong, IMO, nor was it by any measure a bad business move: it got a really good rating and gave people who didn't watch the Rumble a taste of the kickoff to WM season. Today, I had three discussions at work with casuals who watched Raw but would never have gotten the Rumble (via Network or PPV). They were excited to talk about it. Two people came to my office together to ask me if I saw it (they know I'm a WWE fan) and to compare reactions.
Their opinions were very similar, and I found them interesting:
* They thought the Triple Threat title match was amazing. They really, really enjoyed it and cited several spots that they liked. They were basically unfamiliar with "Crossfit Jesus" Rollins going in but were impressed with him in the match and equally unimpressed with his live interview on Raw. Two specifically mentioned how bad they thought he was on the mic.
* Everyone agrees that Brock is a complete beast and a major attraction: he was the thing they were most excited about getting to see. Every single one said they believed Brock would crush the entire roster in a real fight, haha.
* Two of them mentioned that they realize Cena has been a big star but they don't see him as a major attraction anymore
* They all mentioned Ambrose, although I think only one knew him by name (otherwise known as The Crazy Guy that came into the studeo from the snow)
* None thinks Roman is the future of WWE, but they all asked me why people were upset over him winning the Rumble. They all said the only thing they didn't like about it was they thought he was made to look weak in winning especially by Rock's run-in (funniest comment: OK, so we see Brock against two guys and he doesn't need any help, then Roman needs help against two old guys who should be retired -- Show and Kane -- and we're supposed to think he's a threat to Brock?)
* All of them know who Bryan is and all three thought he looked out of shape and isn't back to where he was at WM last year, all three said they didn't think he should be main eventing yet and needs more time to get back in shape first.
Everyone also wanted to know what matches I thought we'd get at WM. So their interest was piqued in a way it would never have been if not for seeing the RR on Raw last night.

Excellent news, everyone! I called my cable company and explained the situation how less than 22 hours after I paid full price for the PPV over 50% of it was shown for free, and they offered me a full refund. I accepted of course. I was all ready for a fight but when I explained why I insisted on a full refund the representative said others have been calling "requesting refunds as well for this event" I psyched myself up for the fight that you usually get with the cable company but it was surprisingly easy. I got the distinct feeling the representative was spending a decent amount of time on this during the day because a lot of people were home due to the storm and I guess they had the same idea as I did. I did not even have to play my trump card with the threats to leave and go with another service such as Verizon fiber. ( which I was fully ready to do anyway ) If anyone else was caught in my situation and got ripped off by the WWE I would STRONGLY encourage you to call who you ordered the PPV from and demand the refund. I went in hoping for even a partial refund after reading some of the negativity here on this thread and the result was far better than I expected. The sad thing for the WWE is that I was going to order Fast Lane as my last traditional PPV at the full price. Thankfully, I can finally upgrade all of my services next month to current standards and will be able to order the WWE Network finally. The question is, will I order it now after this treatment? I intended to subscribe and just leave it going month after month thanks to my new job and pay level but this has really soured me on that idea. I might just stick their free shows and come in pay $9.99 and snipe Mania, then cancel right afterwards. I ordered WWE PPV's on and off for many years usually the big ones so I have been an ardent supporter of them over the years. I still think it's very shitty how the treated their customers regarding this situation, and getting the refund tells me the cable company is not happy either with it on some level. So call them if you were in the same situation as me! Congrats. That was a shitty thing for the WWE to do, and hopefully they get pressured by some of the cable companies. You paid for a product that they gave away the majority(and really the meat and potatoes) of it the next day. If it wasn't a big deal, the same company that did that would still be using stills of these PPVs the next day. The fact remains that if you knew and if people knew that the pro wrestling PPVs(Not sporting events, not donuts) would be showed the next day for free, a big portion of the ordering public wouldn't have ordered. Yes, thats the ticket. There is no way in hell I would have paid full price for the PPV knowing they were going to show the matches I really wanted to see LESS than 24 hours later, the championship and the rumble match. I would have waited and watched it for free. I also think you are correct that a big portion of the public would not have ordered it. What would be the point? I suspect if it were not for the Network around now this would have pissed off a huge number of fans. I will not even address all the negativity in this thread by people who just do not "get" it why this was a wrong thing for the WWE to do. I feel vindicated.

Good for you I guess.
As much crap as cable companies get though this is one time I wouldn't have gone after them about it. Honestly as futile as it might have been, if I was in your situation and felt as strongly as I did about it I probably would have went and contacted WWE about compensation.
That being said, each cable system is allowed a certain amount of buybacks without penalty from providers so if the goal was just money back that was the way to go.

I really wonder if Showing the Rumble and Triple Threat on free TV made people who had not seen a PPV in years or maybe ever say dang these things are really good and get the Network leading to the 1 million subscriber news.
