I think now that people know what a Marvel Spider-Man movie looks like, beyond having Spider-Man cameo in someone else's movie, that the next movie will do better numbers (and what a crazy world we live in where $600 million is considered 'just okay').

It's also looking like the first non Raimi Spiderman movie to gross 300 million in the box office domestically where Hollywood makes a way bigger gross from domestic numbers & opening numbers. It'll make bigger bank during the second film especially if it's the first movie after Infinity War. Like it's going to make 100 million more domesitcally than Amazing Spiderman 2.

Just saw it, finally, think it's on its way out of my local theater. I mostly have positive feelings about it. This is the closest to the comic Spidey in personality that we've got in live action, IMO. And I feel that only now have they been using a teenage Peter in other media. This and Spectacular Spider-Man are on my mind in particular. All the others were at least college age. Only until maybe the last third, the villains seemed to be there just to have a token big bad. But darned if Keaton didn't get creepy from {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} the homecoming night on. I got Stepfather vibes there...hey, Terry O'Quinn would have been a good old man Vulture. And as I was expecting Liz to be Liz Allan, it did take me by surprise. And hey, a villain who's not Loki doesn't die for once!
As for last names, do we know if Ned is Ned Leeds? Zendaya's character is like Kat Dennings' in Thor : would be better with another actress. I wasn't annoyed by her, but she did come off Disney Channel-like at times. If only Vela Lowell from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend had a younger relative, it would have been perfect! That or Marvel should stop writing hipster girl characters. And I seriously marked for {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} "WHAT THE F- (Credits start)"

Also just remembered {Spoiler} "interrogation mode" amounting to the suit giving Spidey a Batman voice

Finally saw it and enjoyed it.
Keaton as the Vulture was great best villain since Loki.

I`m still kinda surprised that of all villains, the Vulture ended being the second best written(maybe third, there is arguments) of all movies so far.
I mean, not sure if that speaks well of the movie, bad of the others or both

I mean, not sure if that speaks well of the movie, bad of the others or both Some of the other villains were enjoyable, though not as interesting as Vulture was. Part of that is Keaton's performance, but the writing made a huge difference as well. Some of the others had understandable motivations, but few others had the complexities or humanity that Vulture did. It made him feel more real and should be done more (Thanos actually caring for Gamora notwithstanding).

Movie has finally opened in China. With the 3rd highest opening for a superhero movie there as well as Sony's all time best. At like 70 mil
Current box office 823 million meaning it is only topped by Spider-man 3 at the box office.
