Seriously why do we need so many freakin' Spider Man reboots? We've seen it down twice over the past fifteen years and five films that had been made.
Just show him already as Spider Man and make references and nods to the past films. We know how it goes, nerdy kid who's bullied gets bitten by spider and gains superpowers and death of his Uncle realizes what he must do with his powers. We don't need another film showing how it all happened.
It's not going to kill or hurt any MCU canon if they already have him as an adult.

I like him being younger in the MCU. It instantly makes him stand out.
Everyone else is a grown ass person with no secret identities.

They want him young because they could do more movies with a young character. I don't just see cameos, supporting roles and Avengers starring roles in the 9 picture deal all the actors have to sign. I see 6+ feature films. Two trilogies, one in high school and then one as a early-mid 20s adult. With the Phase 1 actors contracts all winding down and have to renegotiate, Spidey's the anchor for the less sure properties of Inhumans, Captain Marvel and Doctor Strange.

Spidey is taking over as the lead of the MCU when RDJ finally decides he's done. Hell Chris Evans has said he's retiring once his contract is up.

Given how Ant-Man is using a character from the MC2 Universe, I wonder if Marvel feel they have a solid road map for the Spidey franchise and will conclude Peter's story later down the line with the fate of the Spider-Girl version (ignoring what happens to him in Spider-Verse possibly) that one has all of the classic history attached to him as well as the one allowed to grow up and have a legacy. If it led to a Mayday movie rather than a Miles one, I'd be a happy camper. I'm probably projecting a little too far though.

They're rebooting Spider-man AGAIN?
I hope this time they skip the drawn out, long origin story. By now everybody on the planet knows it. Might as well skip to him been Spider-man and fighting some villain.

I guess they're just gonna do flash backs then? Because the new quote he says he wants to do stories before Peter has his powers, and the only other way that could happen is if it's an origin story...

Twist: the 2017 film not a Spider-Man origin story. Its a Venom origin story.

I just don't see why he has to be young. The actor is going to outgrow the role faster than they can produce movies and they're either going to have to recast him yet again or just graduate him from damn high school and let him be older anyway. Kids don't like him because he was once a teenager, they like him because he's colorful and a smart ass.

I remember reading about a month ago that the reason they want to cast so young is because they want the audience to be able to watch Peter grow and change over time, much like audiences did with Harry Potter. The actor isn't going to outgrow a role that they want to age and evolve. It's a cool idea that's yet to be done in a superhero film. I think getting to watch the character age and progress in real time so to speak is going to be cool.

There'll still be like three years in between Spider-Man films with the schedule, so he'll be 15 and then 18.
