It doesn't matter if he gets booed. They don't care. They'll just describe him as divisive and controversial. It's the Cena playbook all over again.

If they boo Lesnar that doesn't mean they're gonna cheer Reigns. They can boo both.

Bingo. No matter how many times they make Bryan lose the fans still think he's the one. And Bryan doesn't actually lose that much (he's lost four times this year, which is only one more loss than Cena has had and two more than Reigns), so that's a monument to WWE's "ability" to not talk up his achievements to the point where some seemingly consider him some Zack Ryder-esque jobber. That's one of the great dangers of booking pro wrestling; you can protect a wrestler all you want, at the end of the day perceptions will be what leads to fan decisions whether or not to buy your product. Daniel Bryan has certainly been protected to a great level, and is clearly a guy who sits near the main event; but once it starts feeling like you're going out of your way to avoid trumpeting his accomplishments (e.g. not even bringing up his appearances at things like the Giants' World Series parade to lead a huge "YES" chant), fans start dwelling on that more than the fact that you don't let him get pinned very regularly. Lots of wrestlers can get pinned plenty of times and still come off as incredibly important, but the booker has to commit to presenting them that way.

I think Vince is just bitter that he "listened to the fans" and gave Daniel Bryan the moments at Wrestlemania last year and then Daniel Bryan got injured causing WWE to have to rewrite their plans. I think that given how some within the company for some reason perceive injury as weakness, that Vince blamed Bryan for the injury and the fans for rallying behind him. Basically in Vince's warped mind that Bryan's injury proved he was right and the world was wrong.
As for the match, I expect to hear plenty of CM Punk chants, Daniel Bryan chants, and if Reigns wins probably Rollins or Refund chants. Have fun with this Vince

Around the time of the Lesnar/Goldberg match, if you left WWE you were considered a sell-out traitor worthy of scorn. In 2015, however, leaving WWE on your own terms is considered rising against the machine and gives you instant street-cred. Funny thing is even though we mock it now, I honestly think former WWE wrestlers shooting on the company in TNA was the starting point of the change of sentiments.

I don't even think the match will get crapped on that much. Maybe a bit, but Reigns' matches aren't good or bad enough to really cause the crowd to react either way. Reigns gets lethargic pops and lethargic boos.

Brock leaving or not, "smart" fans are gonna choose him to the nth degree over Reigns. Thinking otherwise is just wearing blinders.

f***'s sake, UFC has done a better job putting over Rhonda Rousey and making her look like a goon than WWE has built up Roman Reigns. AND UFC ISN'T PRE-DETERMINED. Beyond pathetic.

Those pesky smart fans with their workrate and pac man video games sure have multiplied. Seems like they make up 80% of the audience at every televised show.

I want to know which f***ing moron is sitting in these meetings and saying, "Maybe they'll cheer Roman over Brock because they think Brock's leaving?"
Is it Hayes? I bet it's f***ing Hayes.

If fans want to show WWE they aren't interested in this Roman push the best thing to do is be silent.
booing encourages them. Vinces philosophy is "as long as their making noise who cares what noise it is" and I tend to agree with him. any reaction means that people care. there is no such thing as "go away heat" despite what some will have you believe.
I personally have no problem with him being in this position. ideally they could have waited a year, but they don't really have a year considering Brock may well leave in April.

Part of me thinks Vince doesn't care about audiences sitting on their hands. Otherwise, Raw would not be so uneventful week in and out. Booing the whole show would be a hell of a wake up call...
Then again, when they were in Britain that one time last year, the crowd was so dead that Vince himself got up and mocked them for it...

I think they try and accomplish what the Cena/Lesnar Extreme Rules match accomplished: Lesnar destroys Roman so convincingly that people start to legitimately feel bad for him.
Of course, Brock destroyed Cena even worse at the Summerslam, and the crowd loved it.

People really pay for his newsletter? Like with real money? Just over a week ago most said he's the best when he wrote that article about Bryan I certainly did not . Wasn't that an opinion piece though?

Cole: "Mr McMahon....are you worried about Roman's Wrestlemania reaction?"
Vince: "His Wrestlemania erection? No, not at all. Why would I be worried? HAHAHAH!"
Cole: "No...I said...."
Vince: "HAHAH, Roman is a pretty big guy, believe me. He has no problems in that department"
Cole: "But I...."
Vince: "I mean, he's hung like a horse....or I guess that should be hung like....A HOSS!!! HAHAHAH!"
Cole: "Mr McMahon, I didn't say erec....."
Vince: "He's got it where it counts.....and just like Roman says...."BELEEEEE DIZ....right?....AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!"
Cole: "Oh sweet Jesus"

It really does show how out of touch the inner-McMahon braintrust is if they think fans care more about their corporate entity over the independent contractors who do the heavy lifting. The days where fans were passionate about WWE above all else are done. Honestly, that hasn't been relevant since the Monday Night Wars, when fans would pick their favorite corporation and defend it to the death. When WCW passed away, that good will towards WWE from its loyalists extended for a few years, but, as the quality of the product further eroded and the majority of adult fans got smarkier, it pretty much completely died around 2006 or 2007.
People aren't chanting for CM Punk over a year since he left because they want to boo him. THEY SIDE WITH HIM OVER YOU, VINCE. The same thing will happen with Brock Lesnar this time around. Brock Lesnar is inherently entertaining, while WWE's product is not. Brock Lesnar will become another champion of all of our frustrations and complaints, a shining knight that will be cheered over your soulless corporate puppet.
