it almost looks like dude is changing colors right there. ugh. what a tragedy. RIP and thoughts with his family... He is, he is going pale. From all the videos I've seen, I can't see the point where he actually broke his neck. Misawa broke it on impact on a backdrop. You can see him sort of attempt to sell the 619. Did he break it trying to sell?! Crazy.

Watching the video, it feels surreal to see them continue the match while Aguayo is just a lifeless corpse laying there.
I can't imagine how horrible Rey must feel right now.

That video is awful. The guy looked like he was dead right there on the ropes. Very sad. Yeah, I just watched it. While not looking very graphic, it looks dark.

No way am I watching the video. Too squeamish for that.
Also, to provide an idea of the magnitude of this death, here is one of the lead reporters of Lucha Libre for english speakers, Cubsfan.

This is just awful, but what I hate is how I found out. Coworker told me to look on the Internet because Rey Mysterio killed a guy in the ring last night. NOT what happened, this was a total freak accident and I'm sure Rey will be having a hard time dealing as it is. He needs support, not condemnation.

AAA has had horrible luck lately with talent date issues, scheduling snafus, and a bus crash that killed an office member.
This is literally the top of a shit sundae to have somebody die during a match that was highlighted as part of Rey's AAA return because they were hoping that they could salvage a bad period with a happy note, and this unfortunate moment happens.
May he rest in peace.
EDIT: And I will NEVER watch the video. I've got compulsion issues, but I'm not gonna look at something where a poor man is dying.

R.I.P. I watched the video and it made me feel sick (and not much does these days). This isn't the first time something like this has happened in Lucha Libre, as I read/saw the video of this happening years ago: luchawiki.com/index.php?title=OroEither way it's terrible.

Again, not what happened and it makes all the difference. Again, this is not Rey's fault, this was a freak accident. We can be critical of Rey's modern ring work if we want to, but not a factor so irrelevant.

In the video, he's still alive! He can open and close his mouth.
Unless it's reflex.

While it looks like something went wrong during the headscissors/dropkick thing (not Rey's fault), it's when Perro Jr hits that rope that sealed it. I'm more convinced now that he was already dead when he was on the ropes.

He was dead in the ring. At the end of the video he's totally limp and pale
I've always disliked lucha libre and all that cirque du soleil BS...but this was just a freak accident. Could've happened anywhere and under any circumstances. Mysterio must feel horrible.
no stretcher, where were the doctors? Where were the uniformed paramedics. Carried him out on a freaking board. Are you kidding me?

I can't seem to find a video of when he hit the ropes but I'd guess that he probably hit his chin/jaw on the rope and it drove his neck back awkwardly and that caused the break. Either way it's a sad day in Lucha.

I saw the video (well only 619 bit at the start) on Facebook and I cannot imagine. A son, a sibling, a brother to many gone in an instant while on top of the world and doing what he loved. Rey and Konnan what they could have done, Manik who can tell from the start it has gone bad, I cannot feel for them enough. I'll never understand how the match kept going and no matter what comes out in the investigation the questions will always remain.
No matter it all, God bless you and everyone else.

Horrible Horrible Accident, but not stopping the match and almost hitting a guy who in the very least in in very bad distress is incredulous to me.

Goddamn, just goes to show how dangerous pro-wrestling can be and how professional most of 'em are for stuff like this not to happen all the time.
Got to feel for Rey though. Dude's been doing this for years, then he gets his big return in his homeland, only for it to all go wrong with a move he's done thousands of time. Thoughts go out to Aguayo's family and those effected.
