They seem okay with things. *shrug* On a side note, how come it's okay to joke about Rosa Mendes giving head to Michael Hayes to keep her job? Just wondering. Wrestlers have to have thick skin or at least present it that way. If you show any signs of annoyance or being bothered you give them more power. The best thing you can do is just laugh it off or trolling right back. It also really wasn't a good tweet the Bellas made.

But one or both of them has gone out of their way to say the crowd was great and even gave a suggestion on how the chant should have went.

It's one of those things, like gushing about Nikki's boobs in a thread discussing her ring work, that I wish wasn't done. How many topics can we cram into here? Her entrance and style is often intentionally sexual, she actually points at her boobs and even mentions them in promos. Her arrogant sexy badgirl character is more than half of her schtick, even though I do think she's doing pretty good in the ring lately too. But it's never really off topic to mention Nikki's boobs. If it helps, I think Brie has nice boobs too, and Paige actually has the best boobs. And oddly enough they both pointed at their boobs and brought them up on a funny segment last Smackdown, so clearly it's topical. As for if mentioning the human body in any context is a bad thing, well... those would be personal lines nobody will agree on. This is the internet.

You know, I strongly dislike most everything about the Bellas, but they have improved in the ring to the point where I'm not offended watching a match of their's.
I mark hard when Nikki plows through divas with that Misawa-esque elbow to the face.

It's absolutely fine to bring up attraction to the performers. The issue is when people only talk about the attraction or the guy she's dating, rather than what she does in her career. Like, if I kept talking about Primo's ass in all Los Matadores threads rather than the topic at hand I'm pretty sure I'd be yelled at. It should be the same regardless of gender.

Saying you were more embarrassed by those chants than you were of Katie Vick (a man simulating sex on a mannequin while wearing a mask) seems unrealistic, if that's what you're asking me. Not saying that's not how you feel, or that you don't have the right to feel that way, but hyperbole can cause people to question sincerity some times. And the Attitude Era and even into the mid-2000's was filled with this sort of crap. Why do you expect wrestling fans to suddenly become feminists and accepting when they' and the company itself have spent 30 years being xenophobic and sexist? Because, again, a Post-WM crowd (specifically a Post-WM crowd, with all of its international fans and wealthy out-of-town fans) is supposedly made up of the "smarter", "elite" fans who "demand better", and are the ones posting on message boards about how the business needs to be more progressive and diverse, and how Vince is an evil old racist and sexist. And then they decide it's OK to direct sexually-charged derogatory chants at the Bellas (and Naomi) because they don't think they're good enough in the ring. For me, it's the blatant hypocrisy (a fanbase that refuses to live up to the standard that they attack Vince and co. for not having) that bothers me, more than anything. These people weren't smarks, they were assholes. Of course, they easily could have been both, but your posts seems to suggest that only smarks can act like sexist twats.

I think it's a dangerous precedent when you start moralising about what people should and shouldn't find funny. It would be hypocritical of me to criticise these sort of chants because I'm guilty of laughing at dubious things in the past and will continue to do so. I think humour is fundamentally a very subjective thing and we all have our own personal limits and no-go areas. Probably best to keep it like that rather than dictate what we are and aren't allowed to joke about. ***Wow, I think that is the most serious I've ever been on this forum. I apologise profusely, it wont happen again!

Like it or not, there is a difference between saying something on a website they can easily avoid and chanting something at them at there place of employment while they are just doing their job. So it would be okay to say something sexist or racist or homophobic, as long as the person you're saying it about doesn't see/hear it? It's not ok but we can't emotionally handle getting worked up about every smaller instant of something we disagree with because it just becomes a drain to your psyche. So while it's not okay to suggest some lewd comments, people don't get worked up about it because nobody can survive living like that and be healthy mentally. I make awful comments and I'm aware of it, but it's just a way to release some stress and tension and since it's hidden away on the internet, there is a good chance it won't hurt the wrestler/diva.

I can see what you're saying, it could seem lighthearted or not respectful if we're having a serious discussion about mat work. But when is the Nikki Bella character not kind of cheesy and sexy? She seems like a villain in a Cinemax original. I mean, I'm just guessing, but I think if there was a random post about Primo's ass in every Raw topic it would actually fly by unnoticed, or at least unprotested.

How is two consenting adult, especially when they're serious and loving longtime partners, performing a pleasurable act on each other even a source of ridicule in 2015?

I think it'd help if some people just weren't so melodramatic about this situation. People saying that's it the most vile thing they've ever heard at a wrestling show and everyone chanting it was scum. It just seems so over the top. Can we all just agree that the chants were bad, as is any type of insult because insults aren't nice? And leave it at that? And for that matter, stop all the other insults people throw around at each other? They're all as bad as one another.

You can compliment Nikki while still saying she's one of the most improved, confident, heels on the roster. And I don't like Nikki but she's doing great right now. Primo is noticeably shorter than Epico and tends to be tanner, more animated in the ring.

Well, it's the only explanation that makes sense, considering she doesn't seem to have any discernable talents. It's not unlike joking about Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian for what they are famous for. Everyone falling victim to those chants however really don't deserve them though. Or maybe WWE just likes her? Her current role as an attractive valet is fine. Plus it's subjective. If I didn't think the Bellas had any discernible talents, am I okay to chant about them sucking dicks to be where they are? Okay, sure. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Likewise it's everone's choice how they want to be viewed by their environment. From what I've read here those chants didn't make the crowd look particularily good.

So the women get this kind of crap, yet most of us have seen the male WWE champion's penis and he gets no chants. That seems fair.
