whatculture.com/gaming/wwe-2k16-roster-predicting-all-120-superstars-in-the-game.phpThese guys took a shot at a 120 characters roster and I think it is pretty realistic. This made me realize that yeah, the CAW needs to be better. Because there's still people that aren't in there that I'd love to see, for exemple, The Vaudevillains. Plus, I'm one of those peoples that likes to have the whole HOF as a brand in the game so... Plus if that roster would be the roster there would be a very very important omission. No Dusty Rhodes? Really? The fact that he's gone with exactly 120 while 2K are saying over 120 (which probably indicates a ballpark number of around 122-124 by my guesses) does give room for extra NXT people like The Vaudevillains and/or extra legends like Dusty. Really, all I'm hoping for are Slater and Ryder to make it back in after being ignored last year. Oh, and Enzo and Big Cass.

Nothing like promoting your younger talent by putting a nostalgia act on the cover. Stuff like this is the reason why "PG ERA SUX! THUMBS UP FOR ATTITUDE ERA!" style comments still exist. And as if it wasn't enough to put a 50-year-old who has been retired for over a decade on the cover, they actually made the reveal involve their cover star digging up an old relic and dusting it off. Considering the last four WrestleManias being headlined by part-timers, and with newz circulating that Vince wants Triple H vs The Rock for 31, I couldn't think of a more fitting image to convey everything that's wrong with WWE right now.

I just realized that they are probably doing the Steve Austin gimmick for the game because of the pun with the 16 being in 2K16 and Austin 3:16.

Eh...there's no way right now that any of the newer guys can sell this game more than Austin would, none. The only other possible contender to the cover could have been Lesnar really. Given they're doing the Austin Career mode it seems, I say it's appropriate that it's him. You add in guys from the Attitude Era and you get a perfect mix of today's roster and also the roster in which the majority claim was when the company was at it's peak. I know people wanted some of the newer guys on it but eh, not right now. Give them time to grow, it just makes more "sense" here that's it's Austin. If not Austin then Lesnar and personally given the career seems to focus on Austin, I'm not sure how much sense it would be putting Lesnar on the cover more than him.
It's just from a marketing perspective. People are looking at this as if the company's looking down on the newer stars when really judging that Austin interview, 2K's marketing department were the ones to put Austin on the cover.

120 roster spots sounds cool, except I fully expect 4 Rocks, 3 HHHs, 4 Hogans, 3 'Takers, 2 Cenas, 5 del Rios (just because), a few Edges, etc

I foresee this having to be repeated at least once on each page leading up to the release.

Can't wait!
Hopefully they have the whole "Who Ran Over Austin?" angle in the Showcase mode. Gonna love replaying Austin-Rock WM 17 & 19 feuds even though they were included in 2K14. Gonna be nice to have the Raw, No Way Out 2003, WM 17 & 19 arenas in the current gen game.

My guess is Seth throws a fit on Raw and ends up on the receiving end of a Stone Cold Stunner. Fixed for what I hope actually happens.

I love the massive amount of negativity every time 2k says anything about this. They haven't exactly earned a lot of positive will, let's face it. Using the "we're trying, you guys" argument doesn't really hold water for a series that's had as many issues as this. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because of the short development cycle they were given last year, but there's a bunch of stuff that's making this game less and less fun to play. If they have the same flawed gameplay and CAW system they had for 2K15, but want to sell the game solely on how many wrestlers they can cram into the game, there's going to be problems. But if they are going on the path of making a deep system and fixing the issues, then we're good.

That reveal video was seriously bad ass. Say what you will about the game, the promotion they've been doing for these (The Sting reveal, the Rage Against The Dying Of The Light promo, and this one) has been spot on.

"Ok, they want a better roster than last year's game? Give them the largest roster ever with all individual characters from not only today's main roster but NXT and the Attitude Era. That pleases everyone on the roster side!" That's great news. I can understand being worried about gameplay and CAW, believe me I am as well, but I'm at least giving them props for what we do know unlike last year's title.

In my eyes "we're trying our best" is a far better response than "Oh all those problems you had? They're fixed, yeah that's fixed..that's also fixed (none of it is fixed)."
They inherited a broken franchise and I don't have a lot of confidence that they're gonna fix it (I think it needs to be smashed and rebuilt from scratch completely) but it would take a miracle worker to clean the mess up so it's hard to get too bent out of shape.

Curious question: How easy is it to rework character models used in a previous game for another edition? I heard someone mention that 2K can just fix the models for wrestlers already in last year's game.
