First Muppets smoking pot joke? That was beautiful, they're always happy...now legally. Also the don't draw any dirty pictures line had me laughing "I guess I could turn it into a saxophone" I died at that line

I get the feeling that the Electric Mayhem will be responsible for most of the "getting crap past the radar" moments on this show.

I have the first two episodes on the DVR, but haven't watched them yet. I can't stand the idea that I can't watch this with my 4 year old. She loves the muppets, but she isn't ready for the adult tones and I don't want her repeating some of the things I have already heard in this thread. It's a shame.

She loves the muppets, but she isn't ready for the adult tones and I don't want her repeating some of the things I have already heard in this thread. It's a shame. I really think you have nothing to worry about. I watched the pilot and I was clearly jumping to conclusions based on what I heard. I misunderstood "adult tones". There are subtle sex jokes, but they are things that will go over her head. Other words, hell, hate, etc. are words I don't like, but I can't really shelter her from. It's just about telling her not to repeat them. I feel better about that part. The real shame is that it just wasn't very good. It seemed they were playing it too straight. I want more silliness, more of a "wink". I will stick with it and see where it goes.

Yeah, I put the adult humor in the same vein as someting like Animaniacs.
That said, I don't know if its really a show that kids will like all that much, because it's missing any of the bridging elements between adults and kids, I think skewing toward adults mostly. There's not any pratfalls or any of the sort of slap-stick or visual humor that IJ think really works with a young audience.

IMO it's no worse than the Animaniacs. Prince joke...

It's not like under the radar adult jokes are anything new from the Muppets. They made subtle sex jokes before making subtle sex jokes was cool.

Even though this is a behind the scenes show, they need to find some way to fit in a "pigs in space" sketch. Heck, now that Disney owns Star Wars they can even use the SW sound effects library.

as a huge Fozzie fan I still would like to see someone besides him get the B-plot next week.

They could work it into Miss Piggy's late night show as sketches are commonplace in most mainstream late night talk shows.

I haven't watched regular TV in a long time, but Muppets/Fresh of the Boat/Agents of Shield has become my new routine on Tuesday nights.
My only complaint about Muppets is that some of the voices still seem off, especially Miss Piggy. I've gotten used to most of the other voices, but not hers.

Oh Yeah, the muppets were full of Adult jokes that went over kids heads. like In one of the original pigs in space sketches Dr. Strangepork called Link a schwinekopf (which isn't really an insult considering the characters) but slurs the word so it sounds damned close to scheisskopf (which certainly is)

"I'm Chip. I'm the IT Guy!"
Never even knew this character (or "The Jim Henson Hour", where he made his debut) previously existed. I love how awkward he is in interpreting social cues.

Statler to Fozzie "Oh it hurts to laugh. Well with you in the room I got nothing to worry about." Pure gold.
