Jesus DeSade Bob Glover and Freddy Allen, Sexual Investigators T.C
i bet anyone any money these characters will either be A, written completely differently thus changing there characters and making them someone else entirely or B, not it in at all
Realistically Preacher can never be turned into a TV show, we won't see Fiore and deBlanc, Or heaven or any of the uber religious stuff cos people just can't handle that.
i hope this show is good, it won't be Preacher, it will be more a Preacher light, but i hope it's good. if you want to read Preacher go for it, this show won't be it though.

It always kind of cracks me up when people automatically write-off a show because its not similar enough to its source material. I mean, like what you like and more power to ya, but its like people just refuse to acknowledge that different mediums require different things.
I can appreciate people who are at least willing to give the show a fair shot because they know that the show or movie is going to have to be different than the comic or book for various reasons, but to me, its always a matter of I don't really want the comic and the show/movie to really be exactly the same. I'd prefer if there were some major differences because if I've read the comic already it just comes off as a bit too redundant to see the EXACT SAME THING played out in a different medium. To me, it ends up feeling like some one just going panel by panel and recreating the comic in another form, which just seems boring to me. I want to see creative people doing creative stuff with the source material. That's always been the way for tv and movies. They don't just take the script and follow it like a bible. There's so much more to it than that with all other many many aspects of making a show/movie.
I dunno. Its like people just completely ignore the reality and logistics of how things are made because "no sunglasses!! LAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMEEE! That's not like the comic book I read!" which is just silly to me.
This question I always ask my self is - "Is it a good show or not?" that's the only question that matters to me. "Is it faithful enough to the source material?" is a question that just makes zero sense to me.
Plus they already changed the character of Tulip by casting an actress who isn't white - so I fully expect a bunch of asinine complaints about that from the darkest, saddest corners of the interwebs.

Yeah I am more and more excited for this. I never figured my favorite comic would become a TV show on basic cable. Sure AMC is changing some stuff. But I am gonna wait till it airs and then decide how I feel about it.
Plus Arseface looks great.

Arseface looks like he stepped out of the comic. Good job by the makeup team for faithfully recreating the look.

I can't help but think about the fact that if this gets massively popular this actor's going to have to deal with the fact he'll be known only as Arseface for the rest of his career. Lol

Ok Arseface and Odin Quincannon were cast.
If Allfather D'Amonique, Jesus deSade, and the bloodline of Christ make an appearance, this show won't make it past the first couple of episodes lol. The heat would be too much.

First ep was tonight.
f***ing entertaining as hell.
They found a great tone for the show. Its fun, the fight choreography is top notch, the characters are really cool and its got a nice, perverse sense of humor.
Sami Rami would love Tulip's flashback sequence.
But yeah, high quality show. Gilgun as Cassidy had unlimited entertainment value for me. Dude is pure charisma.

Yeah, that was fun. I really enjoyed Brian Huskey's character throughout the pilot (guy who complains about his mother the whole time and {Spoiler}{Spoiler}cuts his heart out at the end).

Getting ready to watch it. Was suppose to watch it when it aired tonight with my lady and 2 friends of ours. But the friends were not feeling good. So I am sitting out on my pier, got a big glass of iced tea which honestly should be Dixie Blackened Voodoo beer since Ennis named it the official beer of Preacher, and if I hadn't stopped smoking back in 2007 I would have a pack of Camel Non filters. Which I would light using my f*** Communism Zippo.
I do wonder how Rev Wildmon would react to this show if he was still alive.

Having absolutely zero experience with the source material, all I can say is "can it be two weeks from now already"? Because I'm pretty sold on this.
...the fact that "Talking Preacher" is going to be a thing depresses me, however.

If you're gonna do that, at least come up with a creative name like "Preaching to the Choir" or something like that.

Or "The Word." That would've been a good name for the aftershow. "Talking Preacher" just sounds lazy.
I can imagine Jesse reacting to the end of the episode with "I MEANT FIGURATIVELY! f***!" Solid first episode and a good cast. Joe Gilgun is perfect as Cassidy.

Liked the first episode a lot. Not liking Tulip getting race swapped, mainly because I hated the actress on Agents of Shield. But, she's doing a capable job, so I'll shush.

I think the 1st episode of "Talking Saul" Chris Hardwick said they tried to come up with a clever title, but in the end decided to stick with the brand name. Liked the first episode a lot. I'm not thrilled with Tulip being sassy Jackie Brown, Jesse knowing Root, Arseface and Quincannon or his dad being made a preacher. That being said, there were a TON of things I did like in the pilot so I'm going to try hard to let go of my previous knowledge of the series. Also, the Brian Huskey storyline was really feel good for about 10 seconds.

As for Preacher, it was as good as an adaptation with Seth Rogen as a showrunner could be.
