Went in near-completely blind with only some Wikipedia skimming for background. Really enjoyed it, I'll definitely stick around for the rest.

i liked it, but it isn't Preacher.
Its like watching an re-enactment of a crime when you were an eye witness, but them getting everything in the wrong place.
I'll keep watching it, but its jarring.

So I went into this fairly blind, I knew about the basic premise of Preacher but I never legitamely followed the comic (I was knee deep in Marvel when it was running).
So, so good. Jesse is already an appealing character, he's got a ton of heart though he's clearly not a goody goody. Tulip was badass as all hell, Cassidy had the coolest introduction ever, and W. Earl Brown knows how to play unlikable pricks. I'm easily hooked.

I have absolutely no problem at all with race-lifting Tulip, but holy hell can they at least voice-lift her? That is the most annoying voice I've heard in a long, long time.

Another fantastic episode.
The chainsaw fight was perfection, especially the Evil Deadish ending bit.

I can't express how amazing it is that they got Cass right. Been my favourite character for years.

Just caught up with it and I really enjoyed it. I absolutely loved Cassidy.
Being Irish myself I found Cassidy's accent a bit too over the top at first but for the kind of character he is, I think it works. He seemed to tone it down a bit in episode 2 anyway.

Ruth Negga's scene with the state trooper was really well acted. I know its cliché to say, but its no wonder they outsource all the best parts to the Brits these days.
Cassidy was electric this ep. The whole "Now hang on, I killed you. How'd you do that?" bit and the candle extinguisher stuff - dude is pure entertainment.
And him and Preacher testing out the power was too funny.
"I like Justin Bieber!"

It's kind of amazing that so much happens on this show, yet so little happens on this show.

They've already introduced Quincannon, The Saint of Killers, and now Herr Starr. I thought they would spread out the villains a little more.

This show is really coming along nicely for me.
The cold open had a lot going on that definitely took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. It kinda felt like an awesome X-files style misdirect cold open or something. I dunno, I liked it a lot.
They started to foreshadow the potential road trip, which is cool.
The first official meeting of Cas & Tulip was terrific. As far as "meet-cutes" go, it was up there.
Interesting to see how the Word is changing Jesse, very intriguing moral gray area for him to exist in as a character.
Of course, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy steals the show for me again - that dude is so hilarious and cool. Always cracks me up.

Not knowing much about the source material, is this just a bunch of wacky stuff for the sake of wacky stuff? Or does this actually go somewhere?

enjoyed the first ep, had that wierdo vibe to it, pity they didn't keep that "comic nook" style they had at the start of the episode ..... would have been fun had they done that!
i'm liking OUITCAST also
WYNONNA EARP however was a complete mess ..... as hr character was so schitzo, shifting from damsel in distress to hard ass in the next LINE OF SCRIPT, it was hard for me to even watch that first episode!
in fact it was so bad i DELETED the entire series so far!

In fact the whole show has that kind of charm to it, in spite of the gore and dark humor.

My first real criticism of the show came this week. It's been teetering with its dabs of comedy, but it kinda got a little too cheeky and forgot what it was in a sense. Or, or, or, maybe this is the turning point episode and this is what it's supposed to have been all along and where it was building.
I'm still watching and I'm not trying to destroy it and mess on everyone's fun. I think I'm trying to find the identity of what this show is.
Gosh, I don't like being Debbie downer, because I really am intrigued. I'm ... just cautiously optimistic about this one, I think.
