1. Neville vs. Bad News Barrett - ***1/4 2. Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper - **1/2 3. Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus - ***1/4 4. The New Day vs. Tyson Kidd & Cesaro - ***3/4 5. John Cena vs. Rusev - **1/4 6. Nikki Bella vs. Naomi - **1/2 7. Roman Reigns vs. The Big Show - **** 8. Seth Rollins vs. Randy Orton - ***1/4
I think Cena vs. Rusev was rated a little too low myself personally. But with Reigns/Show being given ****, it means that Meltzer has now rated every Reigns singles match on pay-per-view at least **** or better. Granted he's only had 4 of them, but that's still pretty remarkable. Overall the lowest rated match on the show was **1/4 so that's not so bad in the grand scheme of things. Especially when there was a Nikki Bella match on the show.

Really generous for Ziggler/Sheamus and Reigns/Show. The rest I would agree with.

I read somewhere that that match with Reigns at ER is the highest rated singles match in Big Show's career.

I read somewhere that that match with Reigns at ER is the highest rated singles match in Big Show's career. Luckily, I wasted enough time to figure this out. So here's all his singles matches rated ***+ by Dave Meltzer 4: vs Roman Reigns (Extreme Rules 2015) 3.5: vs Undertaker (No Mercy 2008), vs Sheamus (Hell in a Cell 2012) 3.25: vs Sting (Slamboree 1996), vs Mankind (Backlash 1999), vs Brock Lesnar (Judgment Day 2003), vs Undertaker (Cyber Sunday 2008), vs Mark Henry (Vengeance 2011), vs Sheamus (TLC 2012), vs Randy Orton (Extreme Rules 2013) 3: vs Ric Flair (WCW Nitro 3/25/1996), vs Kurt Angle (No Mercy 2004), vs Floyd Mayweather (Wrestlemania XXIV)

Eh, the match was amusing thanks to Big Show but I haven't had the urge to go back and watch it.

Reigns has been delivering so far. Hope he keeps it up.

That is a REALLY generous rating for Big Show/Reigns. It wasn't horrible, but it certainly wasn't anything memorable, either.

Reigns could carry a broomstick to a four star match.

As a rule, WWE Last Man Standing matches are normally very good.

Disagree on the LMS rating.
Big Show's Bellow of Anguish shoots that match up to 37 stars.

Dave must have started smoking crack recently, between this and his WM reaction.

The Bryan/Orton match from SS was the one where Meltzer had lost his mind, giving it something like ****. That was a textbook **1/2 type match if there ever was one, full of snooze worthy resting in the first half and a decent last 5 minutes. The Bryan match was probably like ***1/2 or so, and the one with Big Show was maybe ***3/4. I did like the Lesnar match best though, since the same storyline I hated with the Cena SS match (Brock killing him dead, which made zero sense given Cena's level of experience) made perfect sense with an in over his head Reigns.

You know, I could understand the other three matches (and I use the word understand, because the only one I would rank four stars is Lesnar vs. Reigns), but there's no way in hell you could ever convince me the Orton match at Summerslam was anywhere near close to four stars.

You mean the 3 second match where Orton won the title? There is no other match from any PPV with the initials SS. I hated Reigns/Show, and it was probably the worst example of dragging the LMS stip out.

That is a REALLY generous rating for Big Show/Reigns. It wasn't horrible, but it certainly wasn't anything memorable, either. I thought it was straight up bad. Though that's mostly due to the Last Man Standingness. Add in that it was more of "Roman Reigns is getting his ass kicked! but he keeps getting up!", was bored to tears, or at least eye-rolls. Very happy that he gave the tag title match such a good rating, what a fun match. I'd watch that over contrived gimmick match melodrama any day.

Vs Big Show is say is a 3.25, vs Orton was as you said no more than 2.5. The Bryan match was I'd say maybe 3.75, though that's with a little bias. His match with Brock was essentially an enhancement match blown up to ten. I will say Reigns is slightly improving but he isn't there yet, IMO. New Day vs the Swingin Cats was match of the night, The Meltz should have recognized that.

Yeah, I don't agree with Reigns vs. show being 4 stars at all. I found that match really dull... But it's not like the Wrestling Observer is the be all end all of ratings... my opinion is -_-

I'm sorry but that Reigns/Show rating is straight dookie juice.
I'm glad Reigns is improving, we see him work hard and I can honestly say that he'll probably end up living to his in-ring expectations years down the line, I liked the Big Show match too...but no. That match was not that good. There were predictable spots, a lot of setups that didn't make sense and honestly there was sorta a "disconnect" for me during the beginning part. They turned it up later on but the beginning was just "meh" and it was just sorta there. Something just felt empty. I cannot remember what happened during the first 7 minutes no matter how hard I try.
Yeah the Observer has it's own ratings but this is just Meltz on his stuff again. Yeah people can enjoy the match and love it that much but nah, nahhhhhhhhh lol.

Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper only 2 1/2 stars?
I thought the match was pretty good. At the very least it was entertaining in the sense that it was different from your usual no-DQ match.
