So since it appears Sting isn't coming back any time soon, if at all...where would we say his WWE career ranks in terms of the all-time anti-climaxes/letdowns in pro wrestling history?
The biggest name to never set foot in the WWE finally does and disbands The Authority...and they get back in power a month later. He loses his first and only WWE match. He's relegated to the Network the night after Mania and, to the best of my knowledge, literally hasn't been mentioned again. It was to be at least the biggest letdown and most pointless thing since the InVasion.

Run? That wasn't even a jog. That was a walk. Barefoot. On hot stones.

Run? More like a leisurely stroll.

Disco Inferno was on Colt Cabana's podcast this week. Disco is the true last holdout from WCW. Disco vs. Fandango the next Wrestlemania will be even bigger than Sting/HHH.

It was a disaster. And their WM match just seemed to be an excuse for Hunter to give his buddies a paycheck.

I think if they had an option during wrestlemania month where they said "Would you like to pay an extra $2 to not see this match and not have us talk about it ever?" then over 50% of people would do it.

It looks like the point of bringing Sting in WWE entirely was to boost sales of 2K15 & the Network. Shame.

I personally don't think he's done in WWE just yet. But his appearances are going to be reserved for special occasions. As they should be at this stage of his career.

The match at Mania was fun but why the hell HHH had to win is beyond me.

The only thing I didn't like is that Sting lost. Everything else was pretty awesome.

God its even depressing hearing his run being refereed to in the past tense.....
To tell the truth, I enjoyed the build up, and seeing the match live ringside is a memory that will last a lifetime for me. But there are still so many damn questions about the whole thing. Hell even not being ringside/there live I still have enjoyed the classic overbooked WM drama and spot match (in the same vein as Vince vs Shane, Vince vs HBK, HBK vs Hogan. I generally love those matches anyway, but still) that it was in viewings of it since Mania.
If this is his last match ever why have HHH go over? Why does HHH shake his hand as a sign of respect after the match, only to later in the night (and there after) come out and cut a heel promo with no change of character? What was the point of the Network exclusive segment with Bo on Raw the next night, that isn't his last segment ever (not including HOF induction/none kayfabe and cannon stuff) right?
Its just all so damn baffling to me, it doesn't make any sense!!!

Sting's run was fantastic other than him losing the match and shaking Triple H's hand. He was made to look like an absolute lion, it took everything but the literal kitchen sink to take him down, we finally had the nWo vs. DX, Sting's segments up to that point were great, the match itself was no technical classic but was bags of fun, the atmosphere was amazing... in the long run, if Sting never shows up again, it will be even better in hindsight from a creative perspective. Business wise maybe less so, but creatively, it's only those two things I would change. It didn't matter that the nWo run in made no sense, because in that moment, I was marking like a loon.

They waited way too long to have him talk, and when he did, he barely said much of anything. Not to mention that video promo where his voice wasn't even right...
That said, the WM match was awesome fun. I just thought he should have won. Ideally, he'd come back to wrestle at SummerSlam/Survivor Series/Rumble/WM32. Not sure why they wouldn't want to get some use out of him to elevate some modern stars. I'd love to see Sting v Rollins, Sting vs Wyatt, Sting vs Cena, etc.
