The Rock was pretty okay Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and Transformers were POS movies, anyone who enjoys this totally mindless, brainless, unoriginal, schmaltzy, overly patriotic, lowest-common-denominator action porn BS...Idk man, switch to legos or puzzles or somethingNot trying defend Bay or anything like that, but this comment sounds like something a typical IMDB user would say. Not trying to be rude, just stating facts. There are plenty good and original and bombastic action flicks out there (f.e. Mad Max Fury Road or Nolan's Dark Knight movies), why watch utter crap like Transformers?

I actually didn't despise Bay until the 2.5 hour diarrhea known as ROTF. I didn't think he was good per se, but he didn't reach repulsive until that 'movie'.
That was a film that actively offended me on almost every level. I would have walked out, but I had to see just how much worse it could get.

The Transformers movies have sunk him from a "this guy is kind of annoying but he has his positives" to "god go away", so you can just blame them.

I'd much rather watch the first TF movie over the third DK movie. I didn't find it to be very good and it certainly wasn't original if you read Batman comics.

I don't know if my opinion matters as I watch, maybe, one new movie a year... if that. In that, I can't really have a real opinion on Michael Bay. However, what always bugged me about Transformers is how complicated the robots were. Sure, you have to make them impressive looking and have some semblance of a rhyme or reason why they're mechanical.... but if you have two fighting, with all these explosions, slow motion effects, and everything to that extent.... if I can't tell what's going on until one of them stands tall at the end, there's a problem.

Because it's easy and people like things easy. As opposed to watching the Transformers film. Which is quite hard.

This is one of the many problems of those movies, especially the first two, but I thought the fourth did a pretty good job of adding more color to them so it was easier to tell which was which. Way too much silver/chrome in those early movies, they all looked the same.

Compared to the sequels the first Transformers film actually felt like a Transformers film. There were moments that literally made me feel as though I was a kid again, sitting there in amazement watching the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on the big screen.
The sequels? While they're okay for big dumb action blockbusters I can see why so many critics and fans despise them. How can you not like Starscream going beast mode on the Autobots and striking fear into them in the first film?

No lie, the theater I was in went nuts when they had the shot of the jet where Starscream first identifies himself.

The first and third weren't all that good to begin with and do no respect their audience much either.
