My local rock station, Razor 94.7 104.7, does a half-hour block of metal and hardcore every night, and right now, they're playing "The Hardship Of The Scots" by Darkthrone.
I feel like everything has frozen over. The station rarely plays black metal outside of maybe a couple very rare exceptions.

Haven’t written an album review in ages. Just not feeling like writing right now.
The new Neckbeard Deathcamp is incredible. The new Amon Amarth is Amon Amarth.
Got my ticket for MDF 2020 and also got a ticket to unironically see MORTICIAN in New York in November.

The sound and production of beastial death metal with the attitude of war metal, and the humour of iwrestledabearonce. The humour will be very dated in a few years though.

I hope it'll be dated in a few years, anyway. I've been mostly listening to The Callous Daoboys' new album recently. Such a killer mathcore album, one of my favorite releases of this year so far.

I have the opposite opinion. I find the humour is hilarious but I wish the music was a bit more memorable.

In general I don’t mess with new music, but ridiculously djenty song with a decent hook, figured I’d share

Not metal as I understand it (no screaming, ridiculously pretty vocals and crisp keyboards), but metal sites treat it as such and the guitars are heavy.

No black metal on any station where I’m at (south Louisiana). If you like black metal I recommend the book The Death Archives by Necrobutcher about Mayhem. Great book I

Not metal as I understand it (no screaming, ridiculously pretty vocals and crisp keyboards), but metal sites treat it as such and the guitars are heavy. There are plenty of Metal subgenres without screaming--Heavy, Power, Speed, Stoner, Traditional Doom etc. There's a style of Power referred to as "Flower Metal", and practitioners of it love their catchiness and shimmery keyboards.

Loved this song back in college, watching Jamey Jasta-era Headbangers Ball:

Learned about them after seeing people on ThePRP actually giving them props when they usually hate everything, and been working my way back through the discography since. “Nazareth” was another favorite.
