I watched the music video for the first song they released, and I was definitely underwhelmed. Usually a new Maiden album is an instant buy for me, but I've actually forgotten they even released a new one.

It's OK but certainly a step down from The Book Of Souls.

Didn’t enjoy the Iron Maiden album at all to be honest. It has its moments but I can’t say I really love any particular song. Has put me off seeing them live when they do a tour in the U.K. but maybe il get into the album more by then.

Pill Popper from the new Limp Bizkit album is... not awful. I haven't listened to the rest of the album, but this is a decent song.
I'm glad I could get that off of my chest and admit that.

Listened to the new Mastodon album this morning. Man what a snooze fest. A few decent tracks but a lot of slower ones that I just wasn’t into at all.

Been jamming Dad Vibes a lot since they dropped it. They're doing kind of a remarkable job with their comeback pitch. Kind of a wink and a nudge "we're awful and we know it" message that pretty much everyone can get behind.

Final set from one of the more promising deathcore acts of the last several years. COVID killed their momentum but it's good to see they at least had a good final send off.

Seriously amazing how catchy this song is.
On a related note, Markus Steiger, the man who founded Nuclear Blast Records and ran them until 2018, just formed a new label called Atomic Fire and Amorphis was one of the bands that jumped from Nuclear Blast to join him.

If you've got seven minutes to spare, I'd definitely recommend checking out the whole EP.

The Matthew McConaughey of metal. These last two albums it's like they decided "kinda tired of these memes, what if we tried just being really f***ing good at this for awhile?"

So, Chris Barnes was yelling at clouds, and that caused me to look at Six Feet Under's discography.
Was he always this bad at making music?

So, Chris Barnes was yelling at clouds, and that caused me to look at Six Feet Under's discography. Was he always this bad at making music? Yes. Yes he was. He was a shitty vocalist who only had any notoriety because of his edgelord lyrics and being Cannibal's original singer. They really lucked out replacing him with Corpsegrinder. He screams like the constipated old man he probably is.

I'd never listened to SFU, but when he started having his episode someone posted this on Reddit. The riffs are actually not bad (if definitely repetitive), but it's astonishing any producer listened to those vocals and was like "yeah, that's great Chris".

I know a lot of people get irrationally pissy over whether or not Ghost would be considered metal, but the new album drops tomorrow (and is already out there if you know where to find it). I've already pre-ordered a vinyl copy of the album, so I listened. It's definitely a change for them. I don't know how to feel about a lot of it, but the good on the album is really good. Tobias definitely wasn't lying when he said this album would be a big turning point for the band. They've fully embraced the arena rock schtick.
