Now playing: Malevolent Creation
Malevolent Creation have always been considered a "second tier" Florida death metal band, but this album is a nice gem with demolishing riffs.

Now listening: Judas Priest
Priest released Turbo back in 1986 and with it went for a more radio friendly style that sacrificed Tipton's and Downing's talent with a heavy use of synthesizers, such as was the trend for many bands back then. It's as much Bon Jovi as it is Judas Priest. For those reasons, this album has garnered middling reviews over the years, but I'll be damned if there aren't catchy tracks on it.

Now playinhg: Teitanblood
Teitanblood are out of Spain and are a sound to behold! Violent, raw, crushing, and outright nasty this is not whimsical art house stuff. This one is from their 2009 album Seven Chalices

For such an awful album, Turbo Lover is a great song, and is so much fun live. That and Out In The Cold are the only two songs on Turbo worth owning.

Now playing: Raventale
Now, I am listening to the new Raventale album. Really good atmospheric black metal, akin to Drudkh and Coldworld. Good stuff here!

Seeing them live next week! Ah! Delain is a fine band with no bad albums in their discography. Very catchy melodies and Charlotte Wessel's vocals are quite underrated. They are a delight to listen to, given the modern directions Nightwish and Within Temptation have gone.

now playing: Narcotic Wasteland
Narcotic Wasteland, out of South Carolina, is the side project of one Dallas Toler-Wade of Nile fame. They sound like what Nile might sound like without the Egyptian mythology influences, which isn't a bad thing, just different.

great now the thread's gone and Godwin'd itself never was a big fan of Hate Forest, too raw. LOVE Drudkh, though. Eh, they're often lumped in with all of those Slavic/European NSBM bands but I don't really think they espouse that ideology in their music, at least not as overtly as bands like, say, Absurd or whatever else. Kinda like how Graveland often gets lumped in with that scene because Rob Darken is a racist douche. Never really listened to Drudkh. I should probably do that one day. this song's a pretty good place to start:

now playing: Enertia
Out of New York, Enertia play a power/thrash style that's pretty cool. Lots of Ronnie James Dio influence with the vocals.

A lesser known Iron Maiden track but it appeals to me since I'm a bit of a history nerd (even if my main area of interest is the Roman Republic/Empire).
