Actually, "SJWs" would probably endorse an angle where a bigot gets comeuppance, and the audience is clearly shown "the non-bigot is the guy to cheer, here." Unfortunately, WWE would also probably not get a ton of leeway due to its history of stereotyping and poor booking on this front (e.g. it wouldn't really work if the good guy was somebody with a clearly stereotypical gimmick already), but it's an angle that could definitely be done well if it's done right. So it's less to do with the angle itself, and more to do with folks being wary of how WWE would handle it, I'd wager. I doubt it. SJW's have a quick knee-jerk reaction. If the angle is "heel says something racist" in Segment 1 and "babyface goes over" in Segment 2, there would still be headlines of "WWE Promotes Racism" before the commercial between the two segments end. A lot of people love to be offended. I think you're assuming a bit too much. You're assuming that young people on Tumblr have a lot more power and influence than they actually do (and that just about any of them actually care about WWE, to begin with), for one, and that people in those communities think with a hive mind or something. We routinely denounce those who lump all wrestling fans into the mythical "IWC", and I think it behooves us to be wary about lumping people who talk/post/blog about social justice under one reactionary umbrella.

A story I remember Court Bauer telling after the guy who played the ECW Zombie passed away last year about how they came up with the gimmick: the Sci-Fi channel wanted them to have some Sci-Fi characters on ECW to tie in and they think, "Well, hey, it's ECW so let's just have wacky characters come in to get beaten up by Sandman". Someone suggests an alien be one of those characters.
Vince loves it. Just starts riffing on it, "Goddammit a wrestling martian! That's never been done!" or whatever but just keeps going with it. Eventually he gets to the point where he decides that it would be hilarious if the martian was Jewish. "Yeah, a Jewish Martian! Let's name him Moishe! Moishe The Martian! Goddamn!" He just keeps going and going until eventually Paul Heyman finally speaks up and tells him that it's a terrible idea and suggests something like a zombie instead.
But the thing Court noted was that, even though Vince didn't really put up much of a fuss about it when Heyman told him he found it kind of offensive and just stupid anyways, Vince seemed really into the idea, as if having a Jew named Moishe had been a gem he'd been storing in his head waiting for the perfect chance to put it on TV
