I've never seen someone worry so much about music that doesn't even exist yet. If the track exists but is unreleased, is it truly music yet? Schrodinger's rap.

Well, if the OP's not gonna release his mixtape, I'll take this opportunity to promote my upcoming project, #AllRedEverything.
You know why it's all red? It's fire, brah. I got at least 3 tracks with Future hollering in the background and a feature from from Tupac's hologram.

As far as OP: We can keep going, but I'll up the ante for it. Some people here like chazraps have more experience in the field, but I also have a radio show of my own. Late at night, not many people listen, but it's legitimate radio nonetheless. My station is freeform, so we can play any and everything we want to. If OP just does it and puts up the mixtape, with a link in this thread, I GUARANTEE YOU that I will play it on my radio show. Even if you have that question, you've just been guaranteed airplay if you just put it up and deal with it- so that hopefully can add to it. (EDIT: This goes for other people too- I have a policy for my show- if someone gives me a copy of their work, I will play it.)

Well as I said before, I signed up to Datpiff, but they want too many personal details, so I can't upload there. So I almost signed up to Soundcloud, until I read that the streaming quality is only 128kbps. At this stage I have no idea what to do whatsoever. I'm not complaining, I'm just trying to find the best way to release stuff easily without it costing any money, and with as little hassle as possible. ? This entire thread is people holding your hand through the process and you just being stubborn. Give your personal details, who cares? Nothing is costing you any money. Just get it out there. I care, because I'm a very private person and I don't give my personal information away on the internet unless it's something I completely trust. You are complaining about the streaming quality of SOUNDCLOUD. The standard for which all music is shared online now. Was there even really a project to begin with, or was this an expert troll job? What possible reason could I have for trolling? I was questioning the quality of Soundcloud, as when I was reading up on it it said that free accounts only stream at 128kbps. All of my music is rendered in 320kbps, so I was worried about the quality being messed up...I don't see how that's 'trolling'. I doubt you're posting that has Boards of Canada-levels of stuff going on in the mix, so SoundCloud should be just fine. I put all of my stuff up on Bandcamp though. It's super user friendly and you have plenty of control over everything. It's good enough for me and at least DOZENS of other people so I'm sure it can work for you. Thanks for the info, if you don't think Soundcloud will screw the quality up, then I'll try it. I've never seen someone worry so much about music that doesn't even exist yet. I dunno, I've personally met a dozen+ people who use both bandcamp and soundcloud to put their original EPs and mixtapes out there and they've come across zero issues in terms of copyright, pricing or any legal issues. And some of them have been rapping for 7-10 years. It's amazing that we live in a time where you have so many aveunes to put your creative work out there and there are people who worry about "giving their real name" when using these services, nevermind the fact that you can give a fake name, anon email and burner cell number if you really wanted to get around all that. I don't know what you mean by 'doesn't exist yet'. I started recording my (terrible) music in mid 2012, and I have 16 mixtapes (of extremely varying quality) ready for release. I mean, they're all short mixtapes, but still...16 of the damn things. Not only that, but there's the stuff already on my YouTube and ReverbNation pages. None of those are the final mixes though, and the main reason I stopped uploading to YouTube is that I'd always run into some sort of quality issues when converting the songs to video, and then whatever YouTube itself does that always seemed to add audio glitches that didn't exist in the original files...and then all the false copyright flags. I never had anything taken down by copyright, but a lot of my songs have copyright claims from things that sound nothing like them in any way shape or form. As for using a false name, that's just asking for me to go to jail. Well, if the OP's not gonna release his mixtape, I'll take this opportunity to promote my upcoming project, #AllRedEverything. I appreciate the offer, but I'd rather not, the less people that listen to my music the better. Thanks though.

So you don't want people to listen to your music, but it has to be of the highest audio quality, but you don't want anybody know you made it, but when nobody responds to your very Googleable queries in a thread you post "guess not."
Look, either make your next post in this thread a link to your music or just stop posting. Here in FAN you have one of the most supportive (and, lowkey, surprisingky really talented) forums to hear your music and you've done nothing but bad mouth yourself while simultaneously being overly picky about how it has to be heard.
It's the internet. Anyone who would ever want to find information on you already can. Just post the f***ing mixtape.

Look man, you just don't want to put your music out there. You're shy about it, or whatever, and if it makes you feel better to list off all these imaginary roadblocks as to why you can't put it out there because you're worried about how it will be recieved, then that's fine. When your confidence is at a place where you actually feel good about your music, you'll quickly see all these "problems" with bandcamp or soundcloud weren't problems at all.
