Pillar didn't win the Gold Glove for Center Fielder..........are you f***ing kidding me!!! Obvious bias against Toronto on that one. Oh and they gave the AL Left Fielder Gold Glove to Yoenis Cespedes.....who isn't even in the American League anymore. What a crock of sh** Pillar is an excellent defender, but Kiermaier is the best defensive outfielder since Andruw Jones. Not giving him it would have been a goddamn crime. As for Cespedes...Gordon missed a lot of time and played less innings than Cespedes in the AL, so I'm fine with it. Nobody else is all that good in the AL in left. Andrelton Simmons losing is f***ing dumb, though. Come on.

Going to be interesting to see what the Cardinals do this off season about Lynn. Considering one of their top pitching prospects is suspended, I wouldn't say it's out of the question for them to throw a decent sized 1-2 year contract at John Lackey if/when he turns down his qualifying offer. We lose a starter every year to injury anyways.

Although this likely means that Brett Gardner or Jacoby Ellsbury (or hopefully both, moreso Ellsbury than Gardner) are on their way out via trade as well.

Wow that some sad news. Brock was an amazing player and a great guy in general. I know my brother sees him and his wife once in awhile shopping at his work.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Royals are among the teams who have expressed interest in free agent reliever Darren O'Day.

Kiermaier makes one great leaping catch against the Orioles. Pillar had like 5-10 better highlights this yr

The consensus amongst EVERYONE is that he was the best defender on the planet this year. Disagree with plenty of them, but slighting Kiermaier is absurd.

Kiermaier was good, but this season was definitely Pillar's. Not a slight against Kiermaier, just the fact that Pillar showed up more when it counted.

Showed up more when it counted? What? That's not how defense works. Kiermaier was the best consistently, it's not even a debate. You can go by watching games, you can go by stats (where Kiermaier led the planet by a metric ton in DRS and UZR), you can go by anything.

Disagree here and so did Wilson as they gave Pillar the defensive CF of the year.

Rosenthal jumped in on this later and said that it was multiple teams in the West. He mentioned the Padres, but said nothing is close.

They'd better get Mike Trout or a king's ransom for him. I can't believe they're even toying with the notion of trading him. They're fine with getting rid of the best SS in the game today, but they're also completely fine with keeping one of the worst managers going today. When the Braves open their new park in 2017 they're going to have an attendance of roughly 20 people.

Kiermaier makes one great leaping catch against the Orioles. Pillar had like 5-10 better highlights this yr Highlight-worthy catches are not entirely indicative of one's defensive abilities. While Kevin Pillar made more SportsCenter Top 10 caliber catches than Kevin Kiermaier, it's without dispute that Kiermaier had a better overall season defensively, whether it's by advanced metrics or the eye test. Depending on who you ask, Kiermaier may have had the best defensive season for a centerfielder in about a decade. Also, and this isn't necessarily the case for Pillar, but sometimes diving, sprawling, leaping catches show a bad defensive centerfielder who is being forced to dive or leap because they misread the ball off the bat or got a bad jump. Again, that's not necessarily the case with Pillar, but sometimes where one player is forced to dive to make up ground, another player is there to make a routine play because he read the ball perfectly. That's why I love watching Jackie Bradley Jr. play defense, because he makes everything look effortless. Sure, he makes his share of diving snags when need be, but he's also always right there in place when the ball is descending back to earth. I really, really, really hope you mean that Simmons is the best DEFENSIVE shortstop in the game, because you'd be right, but also because there's no earthly way to justify a guy with a career .304 OBP as the best overall player at his position.
