Defense wins championships. Give me Denver's D any day over Carolina's flashy offense. We've seen this movie before- the gaudy 500+ point offense spits the bit in the Super Bowl. Denver just 2 years ago (role reversal), 2001 Rams, 2007 Pats, 1983 Redskins, 1984 Dolphins. Carolina isn't a flashy offense...we win a lot more on defense (especially on the turnovers) than offense (despite our offense scoring most of the points)

You're really selling the Panthers short.

Denver just 2 years ago (role reversal), 2001 Rams, 2007 Pats, 1983 Redskins, 1984 Dolphins. I keep hearing so much about Denver's defense. I heard the same shit all week about Arizona's. Carolina could've put 50+ on them, if they wanted. Also, Carolina's defense isn't exactly shabby. They have the best linebacker in the league on their roster. I'm a Carolina fan, so my predictions will be skewed. Having said that, I think if Carolina continues to play at their current level, they're going to trounce Denver. Something like... Carolina - 38 Denver - 17 But I also have bad luck on a level that is historic. So Peyton will probably load up on HGH and Denver will do something like... Denver - 42 Carolina - 10

Don't really care much for either team but Carolina is going to make Peyton and the Denver O look like amateur hour. Panthers in a blowout

My heart is with the Broncos, however if they lose, I won't be too bothered by it.

I just want to see this board's melt down if Denver wins. Luckily I've already seen the Panthers lose 1 Super Bowl in my lifetime. So it will only be SLIGHTLY less crushing when they lose this one.

This Super Bowl will feature the largest age difference between the starting QBs (provided Manning starts) at 13 years and can also be dubbed the "f*** John Fox Bowl" as both head coaches succeeded John Fox.

I'm pulling for Denver, but I feel like Carolina's winning this one. Both teams have great defenses with the Panthers' D slightly better. And Peyton's lost a step, so I honestly think that it's his last game, win or lose.
I think it will be closer than Seattle's pasting of the Broncos in Super Bowl 48, though.
Panthers 24-14

I'm fine w Denver winning as I have no dog in the fight. This just feels like stars are aligned for Panthers

Another random SB50 factoid: This will be the first time that both the starting QBs were number one overall draft picks.

It's funny how Carolina could end up pulling one of the great NFL seasons of all time right out of nowhere. Like every week, I'd check in and see "Oh THIS week will be where their run stops" or "They may have gone 15-1, but they'll get knocked out the playoffs straight away" (which they almost did admittedly)... But now they're only one win away from the Lombardi, and are seemingly the favourites to do so.

I'll say this.
If Carolina scores more than 28 points, they win. If not, Denver wins.
Denver needs to keep this a close game to have a chance.

If they're able to keep the core together AND get Kelvin back healthy....man.
