I had hours of fun with the lasso. So many options. Nice. Love hearing that. As did I. I did none of the Blue Dot Encounters without lassoing and hogtying. Never a kill shot. Well, except stagecoach robbers. I'd mow them down. Same with duel challenges. And guess what, when I got to... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}..mow down the man who'd killed my father, it was so so so so gratifying and the six headshots were graphic as all get-out. Seems I'd been missing out with all of the disarms. Material flew everywhere and he was beyond recognizable before he hits the ground. (My other necessary kill duels were not headshots.) I too loved RDR. But speaking of transcending moments in Rockstar Games, I vividly remember a long time girlfriend breaking up with me right when I got Vice City. When the breakup finally hit me, I specifically remember driving to the beach and watching the sun set while listening to the 80s soft hits station. That's ... awesome. Honestly, once I got max honour, I used to cheat on poker games so I could duel people. I'd always go for both knees, their hat & then the disarm. They always stand there in disbelief for a second before they realise their knees are gone, then fall over & try to crawl away. Best song in the game though. Started playing again yesterday & I love it.

Did you all ever lose any horses (they died?). I felt bad the first time it happened. I lost around four or five (can't remember). What was your weapon of choice? I was the Shofield Revolver, High Impact Pistol and Bolt Action Rifle. (I got mad and went Buffalo Rifle headshot one-shot kill when bear had my son Jack scared.) As always, screw the Machine Gun with honorable hate mention to Gatling Gun. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I'll never know if in your last Marston scene, if you have a chance to headshot the main fed guy out of the line of Feds that await you outside the barn. I killed a guy, but it happened so fast, I just went for what I could.
Also, I had no spoilers or anything when I played. Did anyone think the storyline was going in the direction of eventually having you make a choice between Abigail and Bonnie? I think it was pretty perfect as it turned out, but I was getting the vibe that late-game challenges were going to pit my inner emotions into conflict. If so, if things had played out a little differently, what decision would you have made? {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I too recall thinking at the time that Bonnie was gonna put John in a romantic quandary. Seemed like there was some mutual attraction there between the two of them that was building towards a passionate night and a regretful morning. I wonder how different the story winds up if the idea of staying with Bonnie is an option? Does he still get gunned down?

Ok you bastards. Fine. I fired it up again last night. I hate you all.
Now my guns are gold for some reason, I have a war horse on permanent inventory, and I can't mark targets in dead eye, guess it needs to be leveld up. It's annoying.
But much fun.
I got ambushed by a group of cougars. I had a doubled barreled shotgun. Got 4 of em with dead eye before leaving. Was glorious.
Also, thought I was saving a dude. Turns out I shot the good guy instead. The marshalls started shooting me, I'd just collected a lot of pelts so I decided not to shoot it out, and I surrendered for the first time in gameplay. Was annoying.

I watched 'The Revenant' last night and all it made me do was want to go hunting in Tall Trees.

If so, if things had played out a little differently, what decision would you have made? I once was busy blasting something from horseback and accidentally blasted my horse in the head. No option but to carve him up for sale. The first time I lost a horse, I was in the middle of no where. So I f***ing walked all the way back to a city....didn't know you could re-spawn a horse. I was real sad when that shitty first horse died.

Death is the best horse on Undead Nightmare. I love running into zombies and instantly killing them.
I also love the Unicorn, because it's a damn unicorn.

Gotta ask it, what's everyone's speculation on the stranger from "I Know You"?
My guess is he's Death.

In my retroactive head canon, he was Booker from Bioshock Infinite.
In the absence of official explanations, I just make up my own continuity.

Gotta ask it, what's everyone's speculation on the stranger from "I Know You"? My guess is he's Death. I always assumed that it was as well. Based on the whole "collecting accounts of a sort, and being damned by many people" sort of thing it does seem like he's something that doesn't actually exist along with the final "I know you" mission taking place where he ends up being buried.

I've never cared about a character's arc like I did for John. I nearly cried when his journey ended.

The next one should have a girl as the lead character. Like Sharon Stone in "The Quick and the Dead"

This is probably the best Rockstar game
I have a lot of nostalgia for The Warriors too but like, the game world in Red Dead Redemption is just outstanding

The next one should be a prequel with Landon. Period.

I've gotten 10 hours sleep in the last two days thanks to this game. Hate you all.
Luckily I have an immortal horse that I can keep re-summoning. It got killed by a cougar. Shot. But worst of all... During the first Irish mission, the dumbass was just wandering through the firefight. Somehow, managed to avoid shooting him after just going full knife crazy on the last three shooters. Then, as I'm looting the bodies. I see my horse walk off the slope and drown...
Also, managed to fail the first "Maybe Death" stranger mission because I accidentally pointed a gun at him while trying to shoot a Jackalope. Hopefully I get another try.
Have been using Dead Eye a lot more than in previous play throughs. Quite handy. Especially the Blue dot mission where the prostitute lures you into an ambush.
Also, had a new approach to the Christian Girl dying of exposure in the wilderness mission. On my first playthrough, I hogtied her and took her back into town, where she promptly ran away. This time, I decided to just leave her to her fate, except I was shooting coyotes. And inadvertantly targeted her. She said something to the effect of "What a strange vision from the Almighty" and then ran screaming towards town. YAY!

She starts praying in the chapel and evidently moves in. Apparently you can also take her to McFarlane Ranch, where she's start working.

I tried to take Jenny to town on this new playthrough, but some cops happened to be passing by in the process and shot and killed me.
