Just finished up with my second playthrough, first being a couple of years ago, and so in the mood to talk about the game.
It's kind of odd for me. There is a lot of stuff, like how you have to go rather out of your way to use the quick-travel and the rather slow and aimless missions at both the start and end, that makes it kind of tedious at times, but that sort of thing also does a lot to help the atmosphere of it and overall the game just has an excellent story all around. On sheer gameplay I don't think I like it as much as the GTA games, but the story and attention to detail really elevates the thing into a work of genius.
Probably will replay Undead Nightmare in the next day or two. Probably been a year or two on that too but not sure exactly when - my first time playing it wasn't immediately after finishing the first game so don't really have it down to an exact number as to when I did so.

I loved it.
I like the Apocolyptic horses on Undead Nightmare.

Ending was bullshit. Jack killed all replayablity. Game was a lot of fun before that.

I became an outstanding hunter. Two shots to the head and those poor bears didn't know what hit them.

One of my favorite games ever. Even beyond the kickass action set pieces and the surprisingly well-written story, it was the part where you cross the border into Mexico that solidified the game as an instant classic for me.

One of my favorites of modern era gaming! Here's a question that probably gets bandied about every year: Will there every be a continuation set near the era? I LOVE GTA but this felt like there were more stories to be told about New Austin. I get the world map was small for an open world game but there was enough laid out to follow another set of cowboys, Feds, bounty hunters and what have you. Basically I wanna chase down and skin more wildlife darnit!

The next one should be set during the Indian Wars and feature a Native American lead character fighting the US army.

Rockstar's pretty much come out and said they plan to do sequels to it and Bully eventually, but with a pretty, "We'll get to it when we get to it," policy. And the most recent update for them was basically saying that they have everyone working on nothing but GTA Online DLC at the moment and have no intentions to do anything else any time soon. So RD3's pretty much going to be the new Half-Life 3. The next one should be set during the Indian Wars and feature a Native American lead character fighting the US army. I've heard the idea of it being set in Africa and quite like that idea. Sort of a different twist on things while you could capture a lot of the same themes and ideas.

Probably my favourite game of that generation, a sequel would be the thing that would nudge me into getting a new console if there was no PC release.

Set it during the height of the British Empire in Africa and it would be incredible. I'd love to shoot giraffes.

Basically, f*** them cougars. Cougars are nothing compared to the assassin ninja bears. I can hear a cougar, a bear you can't hear till it's too late. Love the game, and for the sequel, I wouldn't oppose them making a prequel based on Landon Ricketts.

Wouldn't mind a prequel showing John in Dutch's gang and what lead to the events of him quitting, perhaps a scene with his daughter as well.

Still the best game Rockstar has ever made. I can understand why people hate the ending because it is kind of out of left field. I was hoping because of this, that there was going to be a ton of post game content. Oh well.

Best part of the game are the last missions. First time I played I blew through them all in a row.
After my first playthrough, those missions now take about a month of in game time.

I could go into detail about this game, but to just keep it short, this game is an absolute masterpiece and my favorite game of all time.
