I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. His last face run lasted about 6 years. Plus he's more important as a top face. Outside of Yoshino, they currently don't have a lot of top tier faces beyond the veterans. True. I wish to god they'd hurry up and get T-Hawk to that level before somebody realizes how good he is and scoops him up. The problem with T-Hawk isn't so much his abilities, but that he's just not connecting with DG fans. But they do have a few newer guys who show potential in El Lindaman and Futa Nakamura. It's clear they're really high on Linda, and have been going on about how good a promo he is. Also it's notable Nakamura didn't take the fall during his tag match despite being the rookie of his team.

I expect guys like Shimizu, Lindaman, and Eita to start making waves soon. Eita especially after his performance against Liger in the J Cup.

Apparently Dr. Muscle was back at yesterday's show...wonder who's under the mask this time. Gut says it's probably YASSHI, but I don't know. He attacked Lindaman leading to Eita saving, so I'm not sure what to think of it. It could also be someone in OG who's upset at Linda deserting them. I'm not sure who I'd pick though. Alternatively, as a long shot, it could also be Fujii who's pissed off at Lindaman blowing him off all those times he offered to mentor him. Speaking of Linda, it's pretty sad that the Marilyns haven't had a single win in the SATL. They've even lost to Ishida and Yamamura. They'll probably beat Marhaisappa, but it's still kind of a downer. As far as the SATL is going, A block is down to Susumu/Kagetora or Doi/YASSHI. B block is down to Kid/Eita or Osaka06. Updates: 8/27 Yoshino/Hawk beat Marilyns (2 points) 8/28 Yamamura/Ishida beat Marilyns (2 points) YAMAHulk drew Kid/Eita (1 point each) 8/29 Yoshino/Hawk beat Yamamura/Ishida (2 points) Osaka06 beat Tozawa/Shimizu (2 points) 8/30 Osaka06 beat Takagi/Kong (2 points) Doi/YASSHI beat Susumu/Kagetora (2 points) So Doi/YASSHI did clean sweep of A Block winning all of their matches. It's more than a little surprising considering that not even YAMADoi were this dominant last year when they were in the midst of their record breaking title reign. I'm guessing Kid/Eita will beat Osaka06, so we have the two contenders for the upcoming Brave Gate title match together. But it's still pretty weird how they've booked this so far. Even more so when you remember there are still 3 more nights of the tournament to go.

Was anyone else really impressed with Futa Nakamura at Kobe World? Kids got a great look and a bright future ahead of him. Definitely. I also like how he looks like Takagi's illegitimate son. Hopefully his concussion wasn't too bad and he'll be back in ring soon.

The SATL Semi-finals and finals will happen in two days time with A-Block finalists Doi/YASSHI and Susumu/Kagetora, and B Block finalists Osaka 06 and DK/Eita moving forward.
The show will also feature the return of Peter Kaasa and Flamita. When we last heard of Kaasa, CIMA announced that he was never officially affiliated with OVER GENERATION and thus was welcome to join any unit he pleased. THe fact he's teaming with MONSTER EXPRESS doesn't necessarily mean anything as we've seen similar cases where other unaffiliated guys would have tryout matches with multiple units before settling on one. Although personally I feel he'd be best suited to either ME or TRIBE VANGUARD.
- The Jimmyz have added the Open the Triangle Gate titles into ther ranks with a win over MONSTER EXPRESS last Sunday.
- Finally, with news of Akira Tozawa signing with WWE, we can safely assume his Open the Dream Gate title match with YAMATO at Dangerous Gate on September 22 will be his last. It's sure to be an emotional night, and will be up for live streaming on NicoNico. I will post a link to that page once it's available.

I don't know. I haven't seen any official statement of it. Personally I think MONSTER EXPRESS should retire after Tozawa leaves. The best friends gimmick doesn't really work anymore considering the only two original members left in the stable are Yoshino and Shachi. Speaking of Tozawa's departure. Here's the full card for Dangerous Gate 2016, as well as the SATL finals results.

So Tozawa failed in his quest to finally land the dream gate against YAMATO and looking from the post speech Tozawa is Raw bound. Also looks like Monster Express is going down the tubes with T-hawk raging against Yoshino, shachi boy and shimizu Also Linderman continues his one my war and set his sights on his old OG stablemates so maybe a T-hawk/Linderman group could be in the future?

I wasn't able to watch Dangerous Gate last week and hoped to see it sometime over the weekend, but no dice. I will watch the Korakuen this week though which can be purchased through here. Anyway stuff has happened since then. The previously mentioned Tozawa stuff which ends at Glorious Gate. Lindaman's been beating on the Over Generation rookies leading to Punch Tominaga standing up to him, and T-Hawk joined VerserK. 09/29/2016Tokyo, Korakuen Hall1. Shingo Takagi, Naruki Doi, T-Hawk, brother YASSHI def Masato Yoshino, Big R Shimizu, Peter Kaasa, Shachihoko BOY via T-Hawk Night Ride on BOY More detailed results here. - The show was fine, but apart from the final two matches, nothing too special. The TOozawa eight man tag match was a fun comedic match, while the main event featured the more familiar Dragon Gate tag sprint. - There were a couple of unit additions with Shun Watanabe being introduced into OVER GENERATION, El Lindaman invited into VerserK, and Peter Kaasa formally inducted into MONSTER EXPRESS. - Following Lindman's win over Tominaga, and VerserK shaving his head, Eita requested a Brave Gate title match against him at (I believe) the next Korakuen show.

The full card for the upcoming Korakuen Hall show on October 10 is up, and can be purchased here. Beginners guide on how to purchase iPPVs through NicoNico.Big show this month with a wrestler putting his trademark cape on the line for a title match along with a unit disbands match. We're on a home stretch to Gate of Destiny where Dragon Gate will say farewell to Akira Tozawa, but you could be forgiven for thinking we're already at the big show here. It's funny to think that this isn't even the first time MONSTER EXPRESS and VerserK have been on opposite ends of the ring in a unit disbands match. At the start of this year both teams, along with Dia.HEARTS put their life on the line leading to the latter team disbanding. But with ME's history with Shingo Takagi, and T-Hawk recently defecting to VerserK, it could really only end here. One team stands, one falls. In other news, Eita puts his Open the Brave Gate title against former stablemate El Lindaman. Both have had recent clashes, even during their alliance in OVER GENERATION. Eita was very critical Lindaman's failed relationship with his Yosuke♡Santa Maria and questioned his loyalty. Lindaman in turn felt shunned by the fans after they voted against him joining TRIBE VANGUARD, eventually joining VerserK's ranks. He reminded everyone that OG's cape gimmick originally was his. But despite that he's agreed to put his own cape on the line against EIta's title. But whoever wins we can assume that Flamita will be watching very closely.

Busy night at Korakuen yesterday. Reults here. - Due to his recent illness, Peter Kaasa was unable to compete in the main event. As a result Referee Yagi ruled that main event would be a 5 on 4 captain's fall elimination handicap match. Rules were that the match could only end when the teams respective captain (ME: Tozawa, VzK: Takagi) was eliminated. Disqualifications and over the top rope eliminations were waved for the match. One eliminated team member could return if their respective team eliminated a competitor from the other team. - After beating the Jimmyz, it appears Mochizuki and Fujii will look to challenging for the Triangle Gate titles in the near future. - Eita retained the Brave Gate title against Lindaman, who had also put up his trademark cape in the match, with help from a red box attack from Dr. Muscle, who would make another appearance during the main event. Following the match, Eita accepted a challenge from Flamita, likely at Gate of Destiny. - During the main event Dr. Muscle returns and caused a Doi elimination after hitting him with a Caldara and revealing himself to be VerserK stablemate Kotoka. - Despite a resiliant effort, Tozawa fell to Takagi's Made in Japan to end MONSTER EXPRESS' run. - During your typical Doi boasting following the main event, he was attacked by T-Hawk and laid out with the Night Ride, marking his surprising removal from VerserK. It was a good show, not great. Most of the best action was in the main event, which was as hectic and crazy as you'd expect from this sort of match. I wasn't surprised that ME lost. Without Tozawa, the unit wouldn't feel right. On the other hand I was very surprised at Doi's removal from VerserK. Not only is he a much better heel than face, it felt like he'd basically become the defacto leader of the unit with all the shit talking he'd been doing recently. I'd also been expecting them to do a YAMATO/Doi main event for Final Gate to close that bridge, and I guess they still could, but I don't think it's as strong a match without the VerserK connection. I'm predicting we'll see a Speed Star reunion in the near future, only for Doi to turn on Yoshino for the 100th time in a few years. Circle of life. Looking at all the now unaffiliated people, I'm almost afraid we'll get another World-1 sequel unit, since 4 of the notable names were in at least one version of the group. Hopefully if the Mochizuki, Fujii chase for the Triangle Gate title comes to be they can create another new unit. I'm personally hoping they team with Shimizu. He has the Dia.HEARTS connection with Mochi, and would be a perfect pupil for Fujii to push his sumo ways upon. Besides that the next few months should be interesting. It felt like things had settled down after Kobe and the Summer Adventure Tag league. But almost everything's up in the air now. Well, except the Jimmyz. Jimmyz4Life.
