I've been doing a bit of a Mania marathon on the Network over the last few weeks. William Regal lost to Chris Jericho at WM 17 and Rob Van Dam at WM 18. Nothing to be ashamed of at first glance but it turns out those are his only main show Wrestlemania appearances! Bit crazy to think about considering he's a well respected veteran who's been on the roster near 20 years. I guess we're looking for reverse Undertakers Just being in Wrestlemaina is a great honor, win or loss. You are part of history. Oh, to join the honorable list of names that includes people like Snooki.

I don't think it's surprising but I think it's hilarious Nathan Jones didn't even compete in his WrestleMania Match in the end, just turned into a run-in because they finally realized "Wait a second, this dude sucks..."

What's especially sad is that it was a tag match. They decided a handicap match with Big Show and A-Train was preferable to letting him in the ring for any length of time at Mania.

Come to think of it, his entire tenure was a bit odd. There was that clip of Taker 'training'(yelling at) him before Smackdown, it seems Taker wanted to mentor him but thought better of it. Did he ever actually have a match in that first run? I might be making it up in my head but I seem to remember returning as a heel later in the year when Lesnar/Heyman had that ridiculous monster stable. I'm not sure how old this picture is but he looks like he should be the lead part in a Hollywood adaption of the life of Glen Jacobs.

In fact...

He had an Aussie Ken Shamrock vibe, but is atrocious everywhere else and had personal demons. I don't think he was in that monster stable; believe that was Matt Morgan.

I might be making it up in my head but I seem to remember returning as a heel later in the year when Lesnar/Heyman had that ridiculous monster stable. He had two matches as a face in April 2003 against Bill DeMott and Nunzio, and disappeared until the heel run six months later.

And now, even if he is recovered in time to be there Well, given he's wrestled on Raw the past two weeks, something tells me his hand will be better in time. This post has been an eye-opening realization into just how muddled and "it all bleeds together" the majority of Raw is for me.

Tito Santana. Hall of Famer. 2x IC Champ. 2x Tag Team Champ. 1-7 record at the first 8 Manias. And that one win came against what was basically a jobber. He was a big leaguer!

I know they are not massive stars but The Usos have never wrestled at Wrestlemania. Pre-show doesn't count. After being on he roster so long this surprised me.
Also after 20 years in the company Mark Henry has only about 6 or 7 Wrestlemania matches.

King Kong Bundy's, from squashing SD Jones and main eventing with Hogan to teaming with midgets in a match with Hillbilly Jim and losing to Undertaker via clothesline.

No, Jones was def. part of that Heyman/Lesnar stable, with Morgan and even the Big Show. He wrestled a bunch before WM19 at house shows, then barely a handful of matches after WM19 (his TV debut was a match against DeMott) until he vanished for a good 6-8 months before returning a while before the Survivor Series as part of that group. He walked out in December 2003, literally using the Australia Smackdown tour to get a free ride home and then quitting the company when they got there.
