That's depressing to read. Sting was literally my favorite wrestler as a child and I still hold a good amount of caring for the man behind he character after all this time.
He deserved better than what the WWE gave him.

I remember the 2.21.11 mystery promos and i still say that those were intended for Sting but after finding out he chose LOLTNA and basically started his new run on the Victory Road debacle i just don't understand why guys just don't take the offer when given and see where it goes instead of doing stuff like going back to a company that is not worthy of you only to screw around with you until your deal is up.

I just hope Sting and Undertaker have an interaction of some kind.

This should end the turnbuckle powerbomb if they haven't yet. I feel like if the same thing happened with Ryback instead of Rollins there would be yelling to have him fired. It was good to see Sting in the WWE anyways.

I just hope Sting and Undertaker have an interaction of some kind. All I wanted. The Monday Night Wars painted both as cornerstones and franchises of their respective companies. Just one segment. Thank you, Sting.

It was good to see Sting in the WWE anyways. It's a degenerative injury. It wasn't caused by a single move as has been explained multiple times since the incident occured.

The fact that he couldn't demand a win on WrestleMania is a giveaway he head no leeway in negotiations. . Or and this a thought he didn't care if he won or lost. I don't see Sting as the type of guy that gives a crap about wins or losses at this stage of his career. NOTHING could take away from the fact that he is god damned Sting.

I can certainly understand why guys continue to choose TNA over WWE despite TNA's reputation. In the case of Sting, most of the things he was able to do storyline-wise in TNA would never have happened in WWE. Maybe he liked "stalker Jeff Jarrett", Joker Sting, and that weird "i'm going to take off my sting mask to show that I'm actually Sting" thing.

I can't wait for WWE to un-acknowledge his match with Seth Rollins just so they can say Sting's last match was against the legendary Triple H.

They should keep him around as a part-time trainer at NXT just to teach babyface 101. No one in the sport was a better babyface than Sting in his prime. He knew when to sell, when not to, when to smile, and when to get pissed. It's rare for someone to have it down so well.

Never in a million years would of thought Stings last match would be with Tyler Black.

Very, very sad. Sting was the reason I got hooked on pro wrestling, back in '93.
There are criticisms for his WWE run and I'd agree with some of them, but for happy memories it did give me the intial Survivor Series appearance, the ring clearance alongside Orton, him appearing at WrestleMania, the very good match with Rollins despite the injury outcome and the upcoming HoF induction and speech.
Sting was an electric performer and a real class act. The guy had 'it' and was one of the best at that larger-than-life superhero persona.
I'll always be a fan of the Stinger.
Hope Rollins is alright, too.

Much as people mock the Sting in a Sting mask thing....I actually thought that was really good and clever booking. From a kayfabe standpoint, you're feuding with Sting, you see a dude at ringside in a Sting mask, you're gonna figure it's just a big Sting fan. Outside possibility, some other wrestler waiting to ambush somebody. You certainly aren't gonna expect it to actually be Sting wearing a mask of his own face.

Aparantly Sting talked to TMZ again and with a disgusted look on his face said "I'm not really retiring".
Could it be one of those "forced to retire in the WWE" bit? It makes me wonder about Bryan at this point.

Wasn't Austin done physically by the end of WM 19 because of his neck injury getting worse? He did say around 2014 that he REALLY wanted to get out of retirement and have one more match against CM Punk despite having a career ending neck injury. I think Sting's case is similar to Austin's in that WWE is sorta forcing him to retire despite him himself thinking that he can have another match. Basically doing what TNA tried to do (force him into retirement).

Maybe now we can get an angle where someone comes to the WWE to strike at Rollins, blaming him for Sting's retirement, and comes into the fray by hiding in a Sting mask.

Then again it could be a storyline.

STING TELLS WWE.COM HE DID NOT UNDERGO SURGERY FOR HIS NECKCreated on Tuesday, 22 March 2016 11:39 In a new interview with WWE.com, WWE Hall of Famer Sting revealed that he did not undergo surgery for the neck injury he suffered at the Night of Champions PPV in September 2015 against then-WWE World Champion Seth Rollins. "I actually did not have surgery. Two neurologists [Dr. Joseph Maroon and one in Houston] were saying the same thing. The side effects you're supposed to have, I'm not really having any. I'm feeling good [and] completely normal." Other excerpts from the interview: On if the report of Sting having spinal stenosis was inaccurate: "I am not saying that is inaccurate. I'm agreeing there probably is spinal stenosis or cervical spinal stenosis. I have had certain doctors tell me, "You know, so many athletes of all ages, they've got this. They deal with it to some degree or another." I had one doctor here tell me, "You're fine, you're okay — you don't have anything to worry about." And then wrestlers say, "I'd see this doctor." "No, I'd see this one over there." I'm telling you, it's just craziness. So I'm thinking, as long as I'm feeling good, why am I going to do anything? And the one thing everyone has said is don't go under the knife unless you absolutely have to." On if the match with Rollins was Sting's final match: "I have to say it: The only thing for sure about Sting is nothing's for sure."
