Probably Sonic Adventure 2. I felt it controlled way better than Adventure 1 and I didn't mind the dynamic shifts the Tails/Eggman and Rouge/Knuckles levels provided, plus Escape From The City is one of the greatest video game songs ever. I didn't know that Adventure 2 had a bad reputation until reading this post. I don't know, I always thought it was good.

Friday the 13th-Sure the map is kind of wonky. But I was fairly young when it came out and pretty much everyone that played it enjoyed it.
ET-I was about 10 when this came out and everyone got a copy. And no one I knew hated it. It wasn't until i started posting at RVGC that I found out it was supposedly hated since it came out. Same thing with Pac Man on the Atari.
Castlevania II-Another that was loved when it came out,and seems to mostly be hated by people that never played it.

1. Resident Evil 5. I think it gets too much hate. The only flaw it has it that it does nothing to change the mechanics from RE4, so it's nothing mind blowing. But it still has good action, it wrapped up a lot of dangling series plot threads, and the AI wasn't as problematic for me as it seems to have been for a lot of people.
2. Takeshi's Quest. The game is a work of genius, pure and simple. It's like postmodern art. The whole point of the game is that it's bad, nonsensical, and completely arcane to figure out; Takeshi Kitano was trolling the player! It's a fourth-wall breaker years ahead of its time, even though the game itself is ridiculous.

The skate shoes and other attempts to be hip and edgy, pretty much all the music outside of City Escape, the hordes of mech/hunting levels when all anyone wanted was the speed levels (seriously, Tails' levels were so fun in SA1, but they dumped him in the mech so they'd have a light side counterpart to Eggman), the absolute horror that is Mad Space/Meteor Herd... It's easy to see how it leads into the Sonic '06 era.

Duke Nukem Forever- Was it a huge disappointment? Totally, but I still had fun playing it.
Resident Evil 5 + 6- If you want to have fun with your friends blasting enemies to pieces without much strategic thinking with your friends these are the games for you.

Wind Waker.
Look past the graphical change and you'll see not only is it one of the best Zelda games, but one of the most beautiful looking games of all time, too.

While I probably won't ever play it again, I thought Duke Nukem Forever was much better than the bad reviews would suggest. It seemed pretty much perfect as a followup to Duke 3D.

DNF's problem was hype. After 15 years of waiting, nothing less than a stellar game would do, and it was merely adequate.

That Sega Saturn robot fighting game. I think it was called Revolt of the Robots.

I also loved Final Fantasy X-2 Yes the story is lame. But I liked Tidus and wanted to see him again.....ok fine. After I beat the game once I didn't want to see him anymore.... There are loads of mini games to play and lots of secrets to find as you explore each area. Tidus is an awesome character. Easily one of the most unfairly maligned in gaming period.

E.T. - I owned it growing up. It was crucial to have read the book for the game. If you did, it all made sense. I actually consider it one of the best 2700 games. Compare it to crap like Jedi Arena or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Those are bad games.
Adventures of Link - I really like the game. As others have stated, there was only one Zelda game when it came out. I loved a lot of the direction. It was hard, but after you got used to it, the game play was great.
Racquetball (2700) - If you do not know what you are doing, it seems like a confusion mess. If you have two people who know how to play it, it is an incredible multiplayer game

I read the book and knew what I was doing but the hit detection was awful. I still played it because I didn't have much else at the time... but both that and Pac-man earned their reputation.

Yeah, it was Rise of the Robots. I get why people hated it, but I had a blast with it. Also, with the sequel.

ET for the Atari 2600 is an amazing technological feat in spite of how terrible the game was. The story behind the game is a fascinating one, since it was pretty much made by one guy on a ridiculously tight timeline.

I played the hell out of Simpsons Wrestling for the PS1. Punch Out Mike Tyson has nothing on Ned Flanders.
