Except it's not a real sport so the outcome doesn't matter, the places AREN'T full, and the people in the building are only a small sampling of your total (shrinking) audience and they're paying good money to tell you, in no uncertain terms, that they hate YOUR GUY.

OK, but maybe it's down to the company to push the white Knights who DO get 100% good reactions. Pretty sure I've never heard an "Ambrose sucks" chant.

Yeah, that Daniel Bryan sure was a crowd-splitter, wasn't he?

And then Cena punched him in the face for calling him the Yankees, right?
Also, I'm inclined to call this bullshit with how back when Triple H was said to be running down Jericho and Angle over them failing to get Cena cheered and insisting he could do it no problem.

More of the same "The audience is in the door, so they don't matter" mindset that's gonna wind up killing the business down the road.

More of the same "The audience is in the door, so they don't matter" mindset that's gonna wind up killing the business down the road. *Most* people don't buy tickets a day or two in advance. They buy their tickets weeks/months in advance, hoping that the show will be good. The attendance at sold-out shows represents interest in the show on the day tickets went on sale, not on the last week of shows. Which explains how a packed house can absolutely crap all over some of the main event talent. In the case of Wrestlemania, the crowd is made up of the most hardcore of WWE fans. Casuals aren't paying 3,000 dollars for floor seats or flying halfway around the world to watch a four hour wrestling show. Giving THAT crowd what they absolutely do not want to see is asinine for many reasons. Not the least of which is that the PPV/Network audience is made up of more first-time and casual fans than any other. People whose friends convinced them to come over and watch. People watching in bars. Potential new viewers. It doesn't do WWE any good to have those fans first exposure to the admittedly goofy world of WWE be the PAYING CROWD crapping all over it.

Those days aren't gone. It's just Cena and Roman. Also Roman wishes he could split crowds lately, now it's some boos mixed with apathy.

It's kind of fascinating how far WWE goes to avoid the real reason as to why crowds boo their talent. They're not booing because they "like to have fun" and they're not booing because they're "jealous of how strong Cena is"; they're booing because your booking sucks. And while I do understand that HHH isn't going to just admit that the booking's terrible, saying "who cares" in a business that's supposed to be about the fans is an awful mindset.

Well, I'm glad that you said something considering that you only added to the boos when you feuded with dude in 2006 by letting everybody know how much this dude sucks as a wrestler, HHH.

The point of fixing the outcome of sporting events is usually to MAKE money. How WWE manages to mess THAT up is beyond me.

Yes, Hunter, keep blaming the fans because you can't create a likable top face.

Are they trying to kill any possible goodwill I might be able to muster for this show?

I don't remember that, especially since he pretty actively invited the crowd to cheer him over Cena in the buildup to WM 22, despite being positioned as the heel.

Cena
1/2 the crowd loves him 1/2 the crowd hates him
Reigns
1/2 the crowd hates him 1/2 the crowd doesn't care
The WWE in their defense of Reigns inability to be "the guy" despite a year and a half of a superman push seems to forget the last part.

I can remember that being the word at the time to the point I'm pretty sure he actually mentioned it in interviews around that period. As for the running down Cena thing, I thiiiink what they were going for in that was trying to play off Triple H's reputation and make it look like Cena was being buried so they'd come around to his side. I think, that whole feud was really damn dumb and even the match I don't think is very good.

That explanation won't work with USA when they give you a much lower offer when negotiations roll around again because ratings are down a half million year-over-year. Causing stock prices to drop and leading to more cost-cutting moves and guys being released all because Vince is too stubborn to change with the times.

WWE spin patrol in full force. They're not just spinning it to the public though, they're lying to themselves.

More proof that Trips isn't going to be any better than Vince when he's in charge.
In fact, it'll probably get worse.
