This thread is us reacting to Bret Hart reacting to Seth Rollins reacting to something. React-ception. NOW the Fine Brothers are going to be seething.

What An ass. He needs to understand accidents happen, its f***ing wrestling for crying out loud.
Bret understands as well as anyone that accidents happen in wrestling, considering his career ended due to an accident happening. That's probably why he cares so much about this.

"I harbor no ill will towards Goldberg for ending my career. That being said, Seth Rollins is pretty awful, right guys?"
If Bret had said his piece and let it go there, even with Seth's response, that'd be fine. But pushing the issue like this...the only one that gets to complain past one comment about the nose break is John Cena.

They're both right. It as an accident, but he probably should've been more careful.

The irony with Austin is that he broke Masahiro Chono's neck using essentially the same move.

He's...not entirely wrong, but "You should thank me" is the douchiest thing to say in this situation. Like, he's gonna stand by his words, and that's cool, but...I dunno, rubs me the wrong way.

The irony with Austin is that he broke Masahiro Chono's neck using essentially the same move. It's not just the move that makes what Owen did so heinous. Austin told him NOT to do that move. Owen joked throughout the day that he was going to do it. Over and over, Austin made it clear that he did not want Owen doing that move. Then, Owen *did it anyway* on a guy who wasn't prepared to take it. And it wound up breaking Austin's neck. Yeah, it's the same move that hurt Chono, but not even close to the same situation.

I'm really starting to question if people read the whole thread, specifically the actual quote that's been posted in this thread twice now

They both have their points. Like I said in the other thread this seem like it could all be handled with a phone call but that doesn't seem to be happening.
However, I do like the fact Bret is just very unfiltered. He's the other friend who you know is going to hit u with some real shit when you talk to him but you'll be mad at him after the fact because he was too excessive in his explanation.

Totally. Austin pulled no punches about it in his book. I think Austin holds back on it publicly because of his respect for Bret, but I gpt the impression even today when he speaks on it that he never forgave Owen and did NOT consider it a freak accident that is part of the job. On Austins dvd Bret says he told Owen to apologise but never did, that Owen forgot !!!!

does anyone have a link to what Rollins had said, before this Bret Hart gem? Listen to him on Jericho's podcast, that is where he said it.

Considering Bret Harts career was ended and he had lingering health issues due to a misplaced strike to the head, I can see where he would be quick to say that accidents like that can't happen This would be a good point, except Bret has often defended Goldberg in that situation He even said that things like that are "part of the job" But now injuries are something that are never allowed to happen He's a legend, but also a hypocrite

I bet they end up posing for pictures together for social media the next time they're backstage together having talked about it like the grown ups they're supposed to be.

And, like many older fans, I suspect that he likes to think that the younger ones have learned enough from their elders to try to avoid hurting one another. Retrogression, in a craft historically known for skills building on the shoulders of those gone before, should _not_ be a trend.

Retrogression, in a craft historically known for skills building on the shoulders of those gone before, should _not_ be a trend. This is fallacious reasoning. You're acting as if injuries would cease to exist if the new guys studied their progenitors more closely and that is patently false
