When you say wins and loses and being a champion doesn't matter on live tv, you deserve all the respect that can be fit into a thimble
And if I had to give a cookie to everyone who went from horrendous to mediocre as a reward, well I'd run out of cookies

again I hate these comments about her benefiting from Cena because its sexist and it degrades her hard work of improvement. Is it sexist when people say it about Triple H? No. It is f***ing stupid, IMO and ignores they were pushed this hard or harder prior to the offending push.

Triple H was world champion before dating Stephanie. The Bella Twins were ALWAYS well liked by WWE Management. They threatened to quit if they weren't moved out of development and Brie debuted on Smackdown a few weeks later with Nikki doing the twin magic thing under the ring.

I'm sure your not upset over that and it's certainly not sexist. It's a fact. In the wrestling industry people benefit GREATLY from their relationships. That's a lie! ....nevermind

I just feel like it takes away their hard work and accomplishments.

Nikki said some incredibly dumb stuff and her character was so all over the place that it is hard to say she was a good champ.
But she was not a bad worker by any stretch and by the end, was something approaching good (although, it should be noted, she never really wrestled as a face once she improved)

I thought she was a bad heel because it felt like she was just winking to the crowd to tell them she's not really bad, just her character is. Way too much arm chair psychologist from me but it seem she was desperate to be liked by others and didn't want to fully commit to being evil at the end of her run.

Nikki and Brie improved quite a bit during their last run, which was a very big surprise. However, by that time it was too little, too late. The women of NXT were demolishing anything the Bellas were doing and as other pointed out, her character really didn't help. Heel in the narrative, face everywhere else because who cares?
Don't think her relationship with Cena had anything to do with it either because as it was pointed out, The Bellas were pushed hard from the start. And even with all that, it wasn't a Mark Henry transformation into a nearly universally loved gimmick and attitude change. She put a baseball cap on backwards and started throwing elbows. Yeah the female jock look she had going on was interesting but it was still the same Nikki Bella, nothing changed but the look and a few moves.
She'll be remembered a little more fondly in a few years but much like Eva Marie, I'm not going to heap huge praise on someone because they learned how to be adequate in the wrestling business. Hell, I enjoy Eva more based on her character alone. But yeah Nikki improved and she will be looked at in a better light in a few years.

PAWS UP
Seriously though, she was okay, I guess. Beyond the memes that I will always cherish, she wasn't really anything special. Her matches were usually fine, but her gigantic title reign was awful and she kind of sucked compared to the NXT girls that were breaking through at the time.

I want Becky Lynch to get the respect she deserves first.

This will sound mean but I'm not trying to, she's one of the best bad wrestlers they had. I put her just under Trish in that regard. Trish knew how to sell. Nikki seemed to forget to sell when time for her fiery baby face comeback as the reigning heel champion.

It's odd to think that her novelty when she first came into the company was that she had an identical twin. Being a twin is as much of a talent or skill as being tall is.

I want Becky Lynch to get the respect she deserves first. Lynch is probably one of the most beloved people in the company at the moment, male or female. Yeah, she doesn't win all the time but as Roman Reigns has proven, a lot of wins doesn't necessarily lead to being liked or respected.
