I'd rather stick with the actual NES personally. I still have a top loader and access to games if I want to buy them, but I can see this being useful for people who want to retro game without breaking the bank True. I have a top loader myself as well as an original NES that has a bad pin connector, and when I bought them years ago the consoles/games were a lot cheaper than they are now. I still have a top loader and access to games if I want to buy them, but I can see this being useful for people who want to retro game without breaking the bank Or people who don't have access to a tube TV to play retro consoles properly. I have one for that exact reason.

Well no Urban Champion that's a start but still Ice Climber is on there. I actually overlooked Ice Climber... that's another game that I think is severely overrated and doesn't have nearly as much going for it as most of the other games here. Smash Bros really put the rose colored glasses on that "franchise". Still, you get more good than bad.

Holy crap, you can't get a much better lineup. Only if we could exchange Tecmo Bowl for Tecmo Super Bowl. I've got two worn out carts of that game that don't save seasons well, and that pixelate during mid-game. GREAT game that has aged like fine wine...

I want it for myself totally but this also seems like a great way to introduce a kid to gaming.

I'm totally picking this up when it arrives in November....priced very well and with a few minor exceptions, I cannot complain about the available games.

Also I would have also taken out Castlevania 2 but that's just me. Yeah, it's not a bad game, but I would gladly prefer playing 3.

Nice, apart from the Mario and Zelda games, I don't have many of those games in my collection.
I'll be all over this when it gets released.

I still don't get why they are selling it without the plug needed to turn it on in the uk
......Isn't that kind of important to play it?

Kinda disappointed there's no wrestling games included. Doesn't even have to be a game licensed by the WWF (or that one WCW NES game). It could be the game Tecmo put out. Or even Pro Wrestling. Only had the WWF video games, so I would finally have a chance for a winner to be me. Also, I wish one of the TMNT games to be included. Preferably the second one (the arcade game), but hell, I would even settle for the first one. Especially now that I know how to make that one almost impossible jump: {Spoiler}You can just walk right over it.

Are there people who rate Ice Climber let alone rate it well? Actually yes. I think with constantly rereleasing, Nintendo is "forcing" it to be a classic, when there's many others they could focus on. Kid Icarus is another one... it's an okay game, but far too difficult to most players and just ugly to look at compared to games that came shortly thereafter. Ice Climbers would have a very difficult time cracking my top 100 games for SNES.

Also they do way more with Balloon Fight than Ice Climbers... and I'd put ICe Climbers above Balloon fight... but that's kinda understandable considering that BF was an Iwata game. and Kid Icarus is a god damned classic and one of my favorite on the system.

I'm thinking about asking for this for Christmas. And while the selection of games is solid, of course I can think of many that I enjoyed playing and would love to revisit. Assuming that licensing was a non-issue and that Nintendo had access to any game in the system's history, the inclusion of these titles would make the system perfect for me:
Paperboy River City Ransom Ghoul School Tetris Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game
Still, I can't complain about getting 30 games in one tiny package. Count me in for hoping that a mini-SNES might happen down the road; getting to play Donkey Kong Country again would be wonderful.

Would be good if there was a way for online purchases of the device, you get to pick and choose the games you want.
But that lineup looks good.

Kid Icarus is a god damned classic and one of my favorite on the system. It's not a bad game, but I would still rank a hell of a lot of games above it. I like it too actually, but the difficulty seemed different than difficulty such as Ninja Gaiden. Getting hit by an Eggplant Wizard totally sucked and the navigation was frustrating and too many cheap moments. It's weird that Metroid used the same engine but is a more memorable title. I do agree that of the first couple years of the system that it was great, but by '87 and '88, Nintendo and 3rd party developers were really making some novel and innovative games.
