Nintendo has announced the Mini NES classic console with 30 built in games. And what a roster! Sold! I'm just disappointed it's not expandable for more games in the future.

I've got an Hyperspin rig...
Still, cool gadget and I might get it to support the idea.

I may or may not have a modified Wii, so the $60 price is putting me off a bit.
Having said that, I know I'll get suckered in and buy this thing on release day. I'll definitely pick up a couple of those controllers.

Yeah, the only thing that would make rhis worth $60 is if you could download more games. All my cartridge systems still work, just fine, and if I can't bust out Double Dribble, Wrestlemania, or Addams Family: Fester's Quest, then no buys.

Aww...original Contra and it's an instabuy.
Still GREAT but now I wish we could add games. That absence is just gonna bother me.

I'm thinking about asking for this for Christmas. And while the selection of games is solid, of course I can think of many that I enjoyed playing and would love to revisit. Assuming that licensing was a non-issue and that Nintendo had access to any game in the system's history, the inclusion of these titles would make the system perfect for me: Paperboy River City Ransom Ghoul School Tetris Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game Still, I can't complain about getting 30 games in one tiny package. Count me in for hoping that a mini-SNES might happen down the road; getting to play Donkey Kong Country again would be wonderful. I LOVED River City Ransom!

I wonder if any of the cheat codes (ie, Justin Bailey, the 10 lives cheat for Super C, etc) work with this system

Yeah, I believe Nintendo won't mess with any of the core code of the games, just adding some layers outside of it add stuff like save states.

Justin Bailey is part of the password system they couldn't get rid of it without completely changing the passwords all together.

Those of you that don't see the games you wanted keep this in mind: if this sells well, Nintendo will likely release more version of the mini NES with different games on it like Atari did with their mini 2600 consoles

However, I thought Nintendo may be marketing these to adults and lapsed gamers who want a no fuss nostalgia experience at a reasonable price. It's pretty darn smart when I considered it further.

I just hope this is popular enough that they do it with other systems....an SNES, Game Boy or N64 one would be amazing

Most likely the list would be Super Mario World Super Mario Kart Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars Super Metroid Mega Man X Final Fight Super Punch-Out!! Kirby Super Star Street Fighter II: Turbo/Super Street Fighter II Donkey Kong Country Donkey Kong Country II: Diddy's Kong Quest Donkey Kong Country III: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble Super Castlevania IV Contra III: The Alien Wars Mega Man 7 Tetris Attack F-Zero Pilotwings Harvest Moon Earthbound Super Ghouls and Ghosts Pac-Man II: The New Adventures Kirby's Dream Course Joe & Mac (if they can get the rights to Data East games) Kirby's Dreamland 3 Pocky & Rocky Super Double Dragon Final Fight II Final Fight III If Super FX Chip games like Yoshi's Island and Star Fox aren't on the VC already, likely they won't be in a SNES comp either.

Nice, apart from the Mario and Zelda games, I don't have many of those games in my collection. I'll be all over this when it gets released. Same here, can't wait for this! Help me out pls: I won't need a Wii to plug this in, will I? Just a TV and that's it?
