Can someone translate for a non fan what the big deal is? I'm going in strictly on a Joker kick...I legit don't know anything else about the universe to be mad at

The one problem is adding something that wasn't in the original story

Good or bad, people can vote with their wallets. This and I'm planning on watching it when it comes out on DVD.

So they screened it at Comic-Con and when the crew got called out for the creep factor of in this movie, Brian Azzarello called someone a pussy.
Yeah, I think maybe Bruce Timm and company shouldn't be allowed to write movies with sidekicks in them anymore. They do f***ed up things.
Also, can we get someone on the animation side of DC that actually gives a f*** about Dick Grayson? Thanks.

I'm going in strictly on a Joker kick...I legit don't know anything else about the universe to be mad at From what I can tell, it's because it really defines Batman and Joker's relationship. Personally I think it is massively overrated and made dumb changes to long standing characters for no good reason.

Well, based on fan response to this Bruce and Barbara nonsense, we'll probably not be seeing it again soon.

Well now that Killing Joke aka the most overrated Batman comic got adapted, can we get a decent Long Halloween version now?

They're doing Judas Contract next. Which will probably devote a lot of it's time to that Damien/Raven 'ship nobody wants.

To be fair from what I am seeing the reports of what exactly happened at the panel are....muddled. Some places are saying it was a journalist who called them out, others are saying it was a random heckler in the crowd.

I'm as creeped out by it than the next.

For reference the people I saw say it was a random heckler in the crowd were also saying when the person did that they were interrupting the people on the panel as they were trying to answer the initial question asked by a Joker cosplayer during the Q&A part. And if that is true, well it doesn't matter how right your point is, you're being a dick at that point. Again though this is just speculation. The only people who know exactly what happened were those in the panel room itself. I've been hearing too many variations being reported to fully trust any of them at face value.

You don't call anyone at a professional panel like that a "pussy". You should rise above it.

Personally I think it is massively overrated and made dumb changes to long standing characters for no good reason. I personally view it as a problematic story that's a product of its time, which has no business of being revisited. To a point, I understand why it's so influential. No one had seen such a twisted and in-depth Joker at the time, and as unsettling as its imagery is, Brian Bolland's art is beautiful. But I think The Dark Knight is pretty much an improvement on Killing Joke. Ledger's Joker is evil but he doesn't leave a bad, creepily sexual taste in my mouth. Babs gets tossed aside callously, and I can see why Moore regrets writing it.

I was there and I can give my account. They were doing the Q&A after and Azzarello gave his answer to a question about the feeling that some of the new material reinforces Barbara being a victim, someone did shout something out whIle he was finishing answering. I couldn't make it out, keep in mind this ballroom holds four thousand people. The look on Azzarello's was definitely one of nothe being able to hear and he asked "what was that?" and then dead silence. That's when he called them a pussy.
