Seriously, what the hell happened with the NBA arena mix up? I wasn't watching much at the time, and it got zero coverage on the news over here in the UK, so I've never really gotten a true grasp of what happened. Vince booked the arena months in advance. The Denver Nuggets made the NBA play offs. The owner of the arena cancelled WWE's booking at like the last minute so he could host game 4 of the Western Conference finals. Just about everyone called foul on him. Vince opened the show by saying ENIS! Personally, I have a feeling the main event of that show wasn't changed too much though they just swapped the Heel/face Jerseys since they were in LA instead of Denver. (The finals were the LA Lakers vs. the Denver Nuggets)

One incident saw a mid-card wrestler get squashed by a main event guy coming back after a layoff. The other involved millions of real dollars in the balance and the breakdown of a real relationship between a heavily pushed employee and an employer. To even compare the two situations is pretty absurd unless the wrestler in question that's getting squahsed has enough insecurities to build a house. FFS, HHH did the exact same thing to guys that were in his position when he himself was a main event guy a little over a decade later so I don't really see why that is a definitive sign that Vince is more petty. You lost a fake wrestling match nearly 15 years earlier before having a super successful career, you should be over it, lol. It's great that he did it but I'm not gonna pat him on the back because of it. While this is true, and I agree which is worse. This is wrestling, we can't pretend that some people wouldn't get over the lawsuit before the loss. That's true, hahaha. I guess that was more a statement on how absurd the mindset of people in the business can be sometimes.

Which one told Chris Amann to sue CM Punk and then put a 5 minute video of zooms on his ass on the website?
Because that one.

(The finals were the LA Lakers vs. the Denver Nuggets) Don't forget that about a month before that Raw, the contract for Raw to be held in the Pepsi Center was finalized. Yep, Kroenke had an out, so WWE would have had a month to find a new arena, but WWE wound up getting booted from the arena about a week before that Raw. Earlier that year the NHL had ran into the same thing where an arena was double booked, their response was to move the game to a different day. That's the same thing that damn near everybody was saying that the NBA and the Nuggets should have done.

Thanks for the explanations. And yeah, I think that answers the question of who is more petty.

there have been others who've done far worse but nobody in the business can match Vince for sheer blind-faced vindictive pettiness.

This topic is interesting to me. I think Hunter's legacy will be NXT, the Performance Center and rebuilding developmental. He's going to have an impact on the business that far outweighs his accomplishments in the ring. Can Austin, Rock, Flair, HBK, or anyone else claim to have a farther reaching, lasting legacy in DIS BIZNESS?
Ten years from now, we'll be singing the praises of Triple H for preserving wrestling and no one, save Vince, can claim anything close to that. Pretty ironic considering many of us were completely turned off by the reign of terror.

HHH has a long lasting legacy if NXT continues to grow and everyone that will be in WWE would of been under HHH guiding hand. However, I don't believe HHH see's that. His contribution to wrestling as a whole will be great but he wants to be on the pedestal of Rock and Austin as far as in ring drawing money etc..

Trips isn't petty, he's insecure.
Vince is petty. And these days he has no reason to be, but that's the very definition of the term.

Vince-Hunter has a ways to go, but I'm confident he'll catch up.

Another factor to consider is age; the worst of Triple H's crimes all seem to be 10-20 years ago, and while I agree with the sentiment earlier in the thread about not patting him on the back for making ammends with Warrior the way he did, it could be a sign he's getting older and significantly mellowing out with age. He's 47 now with a desk job and kids, and that could put a lot into perspective that would make him less inclined to pull petty bullshit moves. We haven't had any reign of terror shit going on, and even when he was built up as a big heel in the Bryan feud and got a quick run as champion in a situation that I feel people really undersell the dire nature of given all of the injuries and missing stars the show was contending with, he still lost in the end and didn't pull any sort of Reign of Terror shit. We could well be seeing a more chill and secure Triple H these days, and the worst of the man we saw in the past could be long over.
By contrast, Vince McMahon was 47 in 1993, and you may remember 1993 as years before every explicit example of pettiness listed in this thread.

Go watch Mania 31 with Sting versus HHH. It might be a wash. The very definition of petty, Vince and company still cannot get over the fact that another wrestling company gave them a run for their money. They cry foul over so many things WCW did to them, although they used a lot of those tactics in their national expansion in 1984. Vince's pettiness and Haitch too, makes me still hope that another wrestling company will rise up and give WWE a swift kick in the ass and shake them out of their complacency. I just can't let go HHH's lead up and Wrestlemania match where the big-nosed idiot buried Booker T. I just can't let that one go.....

Owner of the Denver Nuggets and person who kicked Raw out of the Pepsi Center is E. Stan Kroenke. The "E" stands for Enis and Vince found this hilarious.

When I was first watching it, I thought Booker would overcome Flair's constant interference and win the match. Instead, Ego H hits Booker with the Pedigree one time, waits for what feels like two minutes to make the cover and wins 1-2-3.

Read this as "pretty". Disappointed by the lack of cute hair ribbons and trampy makeup photoshops.

Well, Vince has that father thing going on, but Hunter has a better body. An added benefit is since Hunter buries everyone he does a lot of manual labor so he'll be great around the house.
