Watching some Nitros from early 2000 and it's f***ing awful. But there's not much worse than Jeff Jarrett's promos (other than Mark Madden). He can't go a sentence without calling someone slap nuts, slap-ass, slappy or some variation. He even wished the crowd a slappy new year. Has there ever been a worse repeated insult than "slap nuts"? Whatever the f*** it means.

I always assumed it was Jarrett's version of wanker.

It was the late 90s, early 2000s, the Rock proved that wrestling insults didn't have to mean a thing.

Its definitely some sort of jerking off thing. It's not great, but its a little better than DDP and scum. At least it has just the slightest bit of edge to it, or...nah, f*** it. They both sucked. WCW sucked. No matter how much I wanted to like it, by 2000, it just sucked. Even the good wrestlers, who would be good again later, sucked if they were in WCW in 2000. Its science.

I believe his grandmother used to say it a lot, which makes it even funnier to me

Another vote for it being a reference to a mastebatory act. It's probably something Russo overheard which made him guffaw uncontrollably with pre-pubescant laughter.

I imagine it has something to do with jerking off.

Yeah, what others have said, a masturbation reference, or possibly implying you can't get it up, making you less than a real man, like Double-J.

All I know is back in the day I tried to avoid Jeff Jarrett promos because most of the time he heard the term "slap nuts" my brother would smack me in the balls.

Well, I get wanking, but who slaps their nuts when they polish the brass knob? Don't forget "Slappatory". Fittingly, that came from the Viagra on a Pole episode.

My cousins neighbor was super into wcw and he managed to make calling my cousin slap, slap nuts, and slappy a thing that has lasted to this day. Its his actual nickname that everyone uses

I always assumed it was Jarrett's version of wanker. That's what it seemed to be. I always felt it was funnier if you were the one that said it than if you were the audience.

I seem to remember Jeff Jarrett saying that his grandmother called the sound when people who have no teeth talk too much 'slapping'. Their gums were slapping together. So I guess a slapnut is a toothless person who likes talking a lot.
