Overeem has revived his career 500 times, if he wins the belt that's going to be crazy.
However, saying that I expect Stipe to win.
Punk better grapple and hold for three rounds because otherwise it's going to be ugly

In the main event, I want Overeem to win which would totally put him in the conversation for heavyweight GOAT. Also, it should lead to Overeem vs Velasquez which would be so badass.
Other than that, I'm pulling for a Werdum win, and Faber is the hometown hero for me so that goes without saying. As for Punk, I said it in the other thread, but as much as I'm expecting him to be on the receiving end of a righteous ass kicking (though it might not be so one-sided as people may think), I want to see him win just because where the f*** would we even go from there? But if he even makes it out of the first round, let alone goes to decision, I'd consider it a win for him.

Lot of pressure on Mickey Gall. If the fight isn't a complete 1 sided beatdown people are going to be calling him a bum.

Here are my main card predictions. Cheering for Punk big time! I could totally see Gall destroying him in the first round, but am hopeful. I'd love to see more Punk fights Miocic by Round 1 TKO Werdum by Unanimous Decision Punk by Unanimous Decision Rivera by Unanimous Decision Calderwood by Round 3 TKO

I'm going to attempt to stay up and at least watch the punk fight.
UFC being on as late as it is in this timezone is one of the reasons I've never gotten into it. With wrestling I can at least be spoiled the next day and still enjoy the match quality. Can't do for real sports.

Miocic by Rd1 KO. Overeem may have gotten better but his chin is still a HUGE liability.
Werdum by Rd1 Sub. Browne got clowned by him last time they fought and I expect it to be worse this time.
Gall by Rd1 Sub. Every indication is that Punk is flat out awful for a 0-0 fighter and I expect Gall to make quick work of him.
Rivera by UD. Faber is well past his prime and I would not be surprised if Rivera even finishes him.
Andrade by SD. Both women are excellent and this fight is the toughest one to call.

I'm torn between wanting to see Punk get his head kicked in and wanting to see him go beast mode and just utterly wipe the floor with Gall.

If Overeem wins, Stipe fans will not be shiny happy people.

I want Overeem to win this but I have a feeling his chin is going to fail him again but then again he was able to TKO JDS (who has an iron chin) so anything can happen. Though Punk is well and truly f***ed because unless he proves everyone wrong he is going to be on the receiving end of a merciless beating.

Ok while this might be a but off topic but surely someone from California can answer this so what time does the main card start?
As I'm flying into San Fransisco on the day that this takes place and while I'm really keen on seeing it live, coming off a 12 hour flight I would like to know if I'm not going to be staying up late as jet lag is going to be a real bitch.

If Overeem wins, Stipe fans will not be shiny happy people. First he loses the belt, then on Sunday the Browns bring more tears to his fans.

I was texting my brother who was fighting and "CM" auto corrected to "can" which I found quite amusing. Overeem winning wouldn't surprise me but that bad chin and gas tank combo is always a killer.

I have a feeling Punk is winning.
I just feel like someone's palms are getting greased for that deal.

I want to see Punk get his ass kicked for two and a half rounds. Until Gall accidentally knocks himself out like this.
Followed by Punk doing a victory lap around the octagon with a big shit eating grin on his face.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=IM21-_KR0awPunk's interview with Ariel Helwani He said that it is his first time cutting weight, that he didn't even did a practice weight cut, that the last time he weighted at 175 he was in high school, that he didn't even used a nutritionist. I hope he's trolling, because if this is true, he might even not make weight, and even if he does he'll be dehydrated and gassed out.

Like I've said before, if Punk wins, great. I'm ecstatic for him. I want him to do well.
If not, well he said he wanted to try and do this, and he accomplished that. Still one of my favorite wrestlers in the past 15 years, and no amount of hate will change that.
